DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Cosme was located near latitude 16.9 North, longitude 118.0 West. Cosme is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and a west-northwest to northwest motion is expected the next couple of days with a gradual decrease in forward speed. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected over the next couple of days and Cosme is expected to become a tropical depression later today, and a remnant low by Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
