SUMMARY OF 200 PM PDT...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...21.8N 133.6W ABOUT 1515 MI...2435 KM W OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...70 MPH...110 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...NNW OR 330 DEGREES AT 12 MPH...19 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...990 MB...29.24 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kenneth was located near latitude 21.8 North, longitude 133.6 West. Kenneth is moving toward the north-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h) and this direction of motion with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Continued weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Kenneth is likely to become a tropical depression by late Wednesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 990 mb (29.24 inches).
