DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Nora was located near latitude 11.3 North, longitude 135.1 West. Nora is moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue through Sunday morning with a gradual reduction in forward speed. A turn toward the west-northwest and a further decrease in forward speed is expected by late Sunday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Nora is forecast to become a hurricane by late Sunday or Sunday night. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
