DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Nora was located near latitude 11.6 North, longitude 136.5 West. Nora is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h). A gradual turn toward the west and a decrease in forward speed are expected during the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Nora could become a hurricane by Sunday night. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
