DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Norbert was located near latitude 14.0 North, longitude 107.1 West. Norbert is drifting toward the southwest near 1 mph (2 km/h). The storm is forecast to meander or remain nearly stationary over the next couple of days. Satellite-derived wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Some fluctuations in strength will be possible during the next few days. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
