DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Sergio was located near latitude 11.3 North, longitude 111.0 West. Sergio is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this general motion is forecast to continue through tonight. A turn toward the west-northwest is expected on Tuesday and a northwestward motion is forecast on Wednesday. Maximum sustained winds remain near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected during the next 48 hours, and Sergio is forecast to become a hurricane tonight or Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches).
