India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)

Spun yarn prices have clearly fallen in the last weeks in India over a new drop of cotton and polyester fiber prices. Demand remains relatively weak after the rupee has further risen, in addition. A lower cotton production than expected could however boost cotton fiber prices, already maintained above official minimum levels by state-buying. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centres are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton prices could now rebound in line with an overall recovery of financial markets after they have sharply declined during the holiday period. Demand for US cotton could also recover if US-China negations would be successfully completed. In addition, global production is expected dropping this season, according to the ICAC. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Nylon chain prices have been in free fall in the past weeks in Asia, losing between 14% and more than 20% depending on products. Our monthly report covers the latest and long-term trends of nylon 6 (polyamide 6) prices, also displaying a vertical view of the nylon chain prices, including benzene, caprolactam, staple fibers and filament yarns. China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Spun yarn prices have slightly dropped in the past weeks in China, over a lack of demand from processors. Fiber prices have stayed relatively firm or slightly dropped depending on materials. Demand will remain depressed until the end of trade negotiations with Washington and/or the end of Chinese holidays. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
