Polyester intermediate prices are now bottoming out in the Far East, in line with a sharp rebound of crude oil prices in the last week. Demand is however not expected sharply recovering from polyester fiber producers, meaning that any rally of the polyester chain prices could be limited in both scope and time. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton prices could now rebound in line with an overall recovery of financial markets after they have sharply declined during the holiday period. Demand for US cotton could also recover if US-China negations would be successfully completed. In addition, global production is expected dropping this season, according to the ICAC.
