Demand for yarns remains strong in China, on both the domestic and foreign markets. Inventory levels have fallen at spinning mills and bonded warehouses, as a result. Our weekly report covers China's fiber and yarn prices on cotton, polyester, and viscose markets. Domestic and Import yarn price indicators are released, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang), including a large number of counts for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. Clothing imports have declined more significantly in European countries that have remained for a longer period of time in lockdown, with Italy and Spain primarily affected. German imports have less dramatically dropped as a result. Our 5-year data from the second quarter and the first half of 2015-20 reflect long-term trends of European Union clothing markets, offering a comprehensive review of the European Union imports per destination. EU's clothing imports have plunged in the second quarter, with China experiencing a limited decline in volume, and especially in value terms. Other origins have resisted and improved their market shares, whatever the double-digit fall in their shipments. NTT launches JPY 4.25 trillion buyout offer for mobile unit Docomo - report

(Telecompaper) Japanese operator Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) plans to take its mobile business NTT Docomo private, according to multiple media reports. The deal is worth around JPY 4.25 trillion (approximately USD 40 billion). NTT will launch a tender offer for the 34 percent stake in NTT Docomo that it does not already own, at JPY 3,900 per share.

EU's imports have more declined in knit apparel than in woven apparel categories in the second quarter of the year, as the negative impact of the Covid-19 crisis dramatically disrupted supply chains. The products have been affected in different ways, with unit prices rising at a very different pace depending on 4-digit HS categories. Our data cover the 27 members of the European Union, now excluding the U.K. Data cover the first quarter in the last five years, with volume, value and unit value changes in euro and US$ terms per HS 4-digit product category. Full tables are available for download with historical data from the second quarter and first half 2015-20.
