Cotton prices have stayed firm in the past week, on the international market, being supported by new Chinese buying ahead of holidays and strong demand from Turkey and Pakistan. The textile recovery and heavy subsidization in India should continue to boost prices in the coming months. US Congressional report calls for antitrust action against tech giants

(Telecompaper) A report from a key committee in the US Congress has accused tech giants Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google of exploiting their significant market power in anticompetitive ways. After over 16 months of investigation, the House Judiciary Committee's Antitrust Subcommittee concluded that Congress and the antitrust enforcement agencies "need to take action that restores competition, improves innovation, and safeguards our democracy". It will be up to the new Congress elected in November to decide whether to take action on the report.

Report Shows Most Royalty Cut Requests Rejected This Year By Trump Administration

Bureau of Land Management (BLM) offices approved 581 out of 1,689 requests for temporary royalty relief between March 24 through June 11 of this year, analysis shows.
