Roku expands streaming players with Express, Premiere models

(Telecompaper) Roku is introducing new entry-level and high-end streaming players, expanding its range of TV dongles. The Roku Express for USD 29.99 is available now for pre-order at major US and Canadian retailers and will be in shops from 09 October. The Roku Express is the company's tiniest player yet, and comes with 1080p HD, an HDMI port and 802.11n Wi-Fi. For the high-end of the market, the Roku Premiere offers streaming in 4K Ultra HD at up to 60 frames per second, support for HDR picture quality, dual-band Wi-Fi, a microSD card slot, Ethernet port and a faster quad-core processor. In addition, it comes with a 'point anywhere' remote with a headphone jack for private listening. The Roku Premiere will sell for USD 79.99. Rounding out the line is the fully-loaded Roku Ultra, which also includes support for Dolby Digital Plus decode, optical digital audio port, USB port, voice search and lost remote finder. The Roku Ultra costs USD 129.99.
