Responsibilities Duties Provide requirements analysis for software design Maintaining the software architecture of the existing product s Technical planning of the software development life cycle aligned with the system development Coordinate the software development and its associated test activities Document, followup and prepare improvementmitigation plans for observed anomalies Coordinate, facilitate and participate in overall system design and verification, including integration and operation of developed and procured equipment Implement the software evolution according to the required code quality standard and testing the functionality at function and system level Support Onsite activities such as integration, acceptance tests etc. at the end customers site. Qualification Experience Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science Some years of relevant technical experience in development of medium and large software systems comprising processing, simulations, timing accuracy, communication units and HMI Experience of network and network protocols, TCPIP 13 years Experience in UML language, previous use of Enterprise Architect an advantage 3 years SW language experience CC, JavaJavaScript Eclipse RCP, Bash scripting Python, MySQL, XML Strong experience of development in Linux OS environments necessary configuration of RHEL OS is considered a strong advantage Essential Skills Knowledge and experience in network configuration and architecture, TCPIP protocols, firewalls and switch configuration Strong organizational skills Ability to independently execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fastpaced environment Experience with firewalls, encryption and associated algorithms Ability to think critically and synthesize information Desirable Skills Familiarity with software engineering processes ECSSEST40C, ECSSQST80C Experience using IBM Rational DOORS Proficiency in MS Office including MS Project Familiarity with the operations of Galileo Navigation Project Further Details Requirements The selected applicant will be subject to a government security clearance and must need eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Location ESRIN, Frascati, Italy Description System Architecture Analyst in the System Architect Office in the Future Systems Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes. Duties The postholder will report to the Head of the System Architect Office and duties will notably include working in a multidisciplinary team in active cooperation with other staff of the Directorate and ESA, as well as in cooperation with industry and research communities in the framework of ESA Earth observation programmes. providing indepth analyses to support the tasks of establishing and maintaining a reference architecture for European EO systems that will encompass research missions e.g. Earth Explorers, Copernicus and meteorological missions, multilateral national and commercial systems, nonorbiting platforms e.g. High Altitude PseudoSatellites and insitu assets. This may include analyses of the plans and interests of Member States and other stakeholders, based on their needs, requirements and constraints. Analysing the needs and interests for different Earth observation mission types from different actors, the economic capacity of the relevant programmefunding sources, including privatecommercial contributions, the postholder will analyse the possibilities and opportunities for programmatic overlaps, links, and synergies. Supporting the mapping of industrial capacities for upstreamdownstream Earth observation segments and the analyses of business models and their interplay with institutional funding and assets performed within the Office.
