The Position We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE with strong engineering skills and experience to support our customer EUMETSAT, based in Darmstadt. As a full member of our excellent SOE team, you will deliver a state of the art spacecraft operations for the Sentinel3 constellation. Beside the daytoday operations of the Sentinel 3A3B satellites, you will be involved in the preparation and early operations phases of the Sentinel 3C mission. In this role, you report to the customer EUMETSAT and Telespazio Germanys service manager. The position is fulltime and permanent with an earliest starting date of July 2021. We are looking forward to meeting you! In this role You conduct routine and special operations of the Sentinel 3 satellites. You monitor the satellites subsystems and instruments and analyze their performance and trends. You investigate satellite anomalies and prepare and execute recovery operations. You provide oncall support. You maintain operations documentation and flight procedures. You identify and support the implementation of system and process improvements in the team. You develop and validate Sentinel3s innovative set of operational tools. You support the systems and operations preparation of the Sentinel 3C and the upcoming CO2M satellite. QualificationsExperience You hold a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or related area. You have several years of experience working in satellite operations and operations preparation, including ground segment and satellite operations validation e.g. SVTs and simulations and training. You have proven experience with satellite mission controls systems for LEO satellite systems, especially SCOS2000. Involvement in the study or early design phases of future Copernicus Missions e.g. CHIME, CIMR, CO2M, CRISTAL, LSTM or ROSEL is a real plus. You are fluent in English, written and spoken. Crucial Skills You are passionate about satellite operations and engineering. You have a system level knowledge of ground and satellite subsystems. We expect you to have worked with several platform subsystems and ground systems in particular the mission control system. Handson experience with optical payloads is a real plus. You understand the critical nature of satellite operations and you are serious in your commitments towards the customer EUMETSAT. Tasks and Responsibilities The Spaceopal SPO Spacecraft Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team. The role requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams and with other GSOp teams, promoting the related information transfer as for tasks below described. The main responsibility is to support the harmonized and coordinated System Engineering processes related to the Space Segment and the activities spanning over all Galileo infrastructure, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the Evolution Manager to whom shehe will report on the matter.
