Position Reference 672 We are currently looking for an Engineering Coordination for the CubeSat Summer School ESA Academy to work for our client, the European Space Agency ESA, in the city of Redu, Belgium. Please note that this is a fixedterm contract. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Definition of the Summer School concept in terms of objectives, format, content, duration, schedule, profile of the participants. Identification of and coordination with the different trainers liaison with them. Consolidation of the schedule and content. Development of the lectures, workshops, group exercises, lab sessions, etc. Definition of an evaluation process. Coordination and monitoring of the training material preparation. Review and improvement of the proposed training material. Preparation of the necessary equipment e.g. satellite models, tools, demonstration material and exercises. Preparation of the laboratory, test equipment and Mission Control aCentre with support of specialists. Call for applications and selection process of the participants. Organisation and delivery of the Summer School. Evaluation of the pilot edition. Analysis of trainers and students feedback. Implementation of the improvements in terms of content, format, duration, schedule, participants profile, etc. Use and maintenance of the training material database. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree at least at MSc level in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or equivalent, with minmum 4 years of relevant working experience. Good organizational skills, spirit of initiative, experience in the management of projects. Ability to effectively coordinate work contributions from several different parties, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders ESA, the involved international partners, industry, academia and students. We are looking for two Engineers to support the ESA Education Office E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, supporting the European Space Agency in Belgium. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. Specific tasks to be performed Programme Engineering Coordination for University Education ESA Academy Training and Learning Programme The work focuses on coordination support for development and delivery of Engineeringrelated training sessions in the frame of the ESA Academys Training and Learning Programme TLP. Through the TLP, ESA offers university students the opportunity to take part in 45 day training sessions, where lectures are offered by ESA experts in most cases external to ESA Education and academic or industry experts. The training sessions cover different fields of ESA expertise with the objective to complement what students learn at university, and to better prepare them for a spacerelated career. ESA Education, supported by a range of ESA internal and external entities, coordinates the conceptualization, design, development, implementation and overall coordination of the training sessions. The tasks cover support for the coordination of the Engineering training sessions throughout all phases of their lifecycle from the concept to the development phase, call for proposals, and delivery. Engineering Coordination for the CubeSat Summer School ESA Academy Training and Learning Programme The task focuses on the development, implementation and coordination of a CubeSat Summer School in the frame of the ESA Academys Training and Learning Programme, aiming to support the preparation of university students for a spacerelated career. The CubeSat Summer School will be a multiweek training programme with lectures offered by ESA, academic and industry experts, covering theoretical lectures such as Mission Analysis, System Engineering, Telecommunications, Space Law, , practical lectures and exercises e.g. Concurrent Engineering study, Product Assurance exercise, Mission Operations simulation, as well as laboratory sessions AIV techniques, environmental testing,. The CubeSat Summer School will complement the existing portfolio of training sessions currently being offered. The pilot edition is targeted to take place during summerautumn 2022. The work covers support throughout all phases of the CubeSat Summer School lifecycle from the concept to the development and implementation phase.
