Sunrise sees slight revenue decrease but EBITDA and mobile prepaid customers grow in Q3

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Sunrise said revenues decreased year-on-year in Q3 2020 by 0.5 percent to CHF 471 million due to less hubbing business. Service revenues excluding hubbing and hardware increased by 1.9 percent in the third quarter year-on-year to CHF 400 million, after a slight decrease in Q2. The rebound was the result of customer momentum, less intense headwinds in roaming and project-driven 'Integration' business, as well as an improving trend in postpaid value mix.

Zain Group revenue falls 1% in Q3, customer base holds steady

(Telecompaper) Zain Group reported third-quarter revenue of KWD 408 million, down 1 percent annually. EBITDA reached KWD 166 million, a decrease of 9 percent year on year, reflecting a 41 percent EBITDA margin. Net profit amounted to KWD 48 million, a 14 percent decrease year on year. Alphabet returns to revenue growth of 14% in Q3, net profit jumps 59%

(Telecompaper) Google's parent company Alphabet reported a return to revenue growth in the third quarter, as the advertising market recovered from the slowdown in Q2. Revenues rose 14 percent year-on-year to USD 46.2 billion, and the operating margin improved to 14 percent from 13 percent. Net profit jumped 59 percent to USD 11.2 billion or USD 16.40 per share.

MTN Group service revenue up over 11% in Q3

(Telecompaper) MTN Group said its service revenue grew by 11.4 percent to more than ZAR 43 billion in the third quarter. EBITDA increased by 13.9 percent, and the group EBITDA margin widened by 1.4 percentage points to 43.3 percent, in line with medium-term targets. The group said the results were supported by the performance of its larger operations in South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana, and good group-wide growth in subscriber numbers despite challenging trading conditions.
