Optical Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Technical lead of a team of optical development engineers Lead subcontractors as Systems Engineer Use systems specification to derive subsystems specifications for optical components and subsystems Performance verification Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Physics, Optical Engineering or another relevant discipline Several years of experience in optical design and testing Good knowledge of Matlab, Mathematica, Zemax as well as of relevant ISO and MIL standards e.g. ISO 10110 Familiarity with ESA processes and project phases advantageous Ideally, experience in working on complex space projects, e.g. at DLR or ESA Problemsolver, target oriented and the ability to supervise defined development projects independently Good knowledge of MS Office, programming experience would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory German would be an asset.
