Responsibilities Duties Tasks You will be responsible for the following diverse range of tasks, encompassing algorithmic and hardware definition, development and validation, involving software, hardware and system constraints. These can be grouped within the following main headings Design, development and performance evaluation and characterisation of control, data and signal processing units for Radio Frequency payloads and instruments. Definition, design, development, performance evaluation and verification of data and signal processing functions and algorithms via simulation techniques e.g. Matlab, Python, prototyping SW. Design, verification and validation of payload data and signal processing chains. Hardware software optimization and implementation of payload data processing functions on processors e.g. uCuP, DSP, GPU, AI accelerators and FPGA e.g. MPSoC, RfSoC based platforms. Radio Frequency payloads instruments related ASICs and device specification validation Specific engineering support in the above domains to mainstream ESA space projects, mainly for but not restricted to the development and testing phases. Mandatory skills background Extensive knowledge in onboard data and signal processing techniques. Extensive knowledge in signal quality and onboard payload data processing functions for RF remote sensing and Telecom payloads. Extensive knowledge in simulation of signal processing functions Matlab, Python, C, etc Knowledge in the design, training and validation of machine learning techniques not limited to deep learning for tasks such as prediction, classification, semantic segmentation, object detection, etc Familiarity with telecom payload processors, synthetic aperture radar, radar altimetry and radio frequency interference mitigation coverage of more than one of the topics will be a strong asset Familiarity with payload data and signal processing onboard systems architectures Familiarity with processing devices and onboard electronics design related to data acquisition and processing functions Familiarity with procurement of units, subsystems integration and testing Ability to work in an autonomous manner, in particular when providing support to projects with high time allocations and this in coordination with the line manager

Position Reference 688 We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to work four Client in the city of London, United Kingdom. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Technical support to System Level activities, reporting to System segment Lead. Ensure effective integration across space, ground, operations, and system segment activities and products hardware and software. Supporting the coordination of system integration requirements. Applying lessons learned from similar space architecture system efforts to ensure successful definition, planning and development. Interacting and collaborating with contractors and government leads to ensure that all system level interface requirements are consistent. Supporting the programme to define, capture, and maintain the system level technical, schedule, and cost risks throughout and developing risk mitigation courses of action and assessing impacts of risks and proposed changes. Developing, documenting, executing, integrating and evolving engineering processes as required to support the design and development of the system segment. Support to preparation of ITTs and other relevant technical documentation. Developing briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation in support. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory BSc or MSc, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical, Communications Engineering technical, Physics, or similar. Knowledge of GNSS theory and practice. Experience in RF Navigation and System Concepts. Experience of RF signal design. Minimum 3 years of demonstrated system engineering experience within space, ground, operations or sustainment segments of a space programme. Knowledge of ECSS. Experience, knowledge and understanding of the Enterprise Architect and DOORS tools. Experience with requirements and interface management, risk management, change boards and change board environment. Extremely motivated individual who is a selfstarter and a team player. Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings. Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organisational skills. Eligibility for UK SC Clearance. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience of using open architecture system development efforts throughout the entire systems engineering lifecycle.
