Tasks Preparations for future satellite Programmes including Meteosat Third Generation MTG, EUMETSAT Polar System 2nd Generation EPSSG and Copernicus, previously known as GMES Global Monitoring for Environment and Security, Sentinel3 are ongoing. The EUMETSAT TSS Technical and Scientific Support Department provides in an integrated manner scientific and engineering support to EUMETSATs programmes during the development and operations phases, and process assurance project control to the whole organisation. Within the TSS Department, the GSI Generic Systems and Infrastructure Division is in charge of engineering, maintaining and upgrading generic ground segment functions, services, infrastructure and tools in response to requirements of operational and future programmes. The Data Services Engineering Team within the GSI Division is responsible for the maintenance and evolution of all Data Access Long Term Storage services to address both the increased needs for operational systems and the added requirements for the future programmes in unified development logic. As a member of the Generic and Systems Infrastructure Division, the key person shall provide support to the development and maintenance of data services systems. The duties range from the support to the operation of the EUMETSAT Earth Observation Portal to the analysis, design, development testing and maintenance of software functions maintaineddeveloped within the Data Services Engineering Team. This may include the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures, the support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. The particular focus on the tasks to be performed are the operational support and the design, implementation and testing of software corrections and evolutions. Description Task 1 Support to Galileo Early Services system security engineering and security operations preparation The GSA shall prepare for the European Commission the Galileo exploitation programme. As part of this programme, a key activity is the preparation and provision of the Galileo Early Services, due to start in October 2014. Following the completion of the service implementation in the first Quarter 2014, a service validation is planned to start in April 2014. The objective of this task is to support the preparation activities for the Galileo Early Service provision in the area of security engineering and security operations preparation.
