Denmark leads EU digital performance index

(Telecompaper) The European Commission has released a new index aimed at measuring how 'digital' each country in the EU is. The tool gives snapshots, per country, of connectivity (how widespread, fast and affordable broadband is), internet skills, the use of online activities from news to shopping, and how key digital technologies (e-invoices, cloud services, e-commerce, etc) and digital public services such as e-government and e-health are developed. The data is mostly from 2013 and 2014 and will be used in developing the next Digital Agenda scorecard, due out this summer. Andrus Ansip, EC Vice-President for the Digital Single Market, said the data will also help in preparing the new digital single market strategy, to be unveiled in May by the commission. Out of a maximum index score of 1.0, Denmark scored the highest with a figure of 0.67, while Romania came last with a digital performance score of 0.31.

We are constantly looking to grow and develop the team and have many opportunities for candidates looking to further their careers or experience within this business. We are particularly interested in speaking to ambitious individuals, committed to learning and developing their skills in a highly technical environment. The key candidate for this role will have a University degree in the domain of engineering, science or equivalent. Candidates shall have direct involvement along with at least 3 years experience in the following areas Specification of level 1 algorithms for geolocation, spectral and radiometric correction and calibration and of level 2 geophysical algorithms, for spaceborne observation systems as imaging andor sounding instruments. Mission performance analysis, budgeting and verification for spaceborne observing systems as imaging andor sounding instruments Experience in any of the following areas would be considered to be advantageous Knowledge of relevant spaceborn observation instruments EPSSG satellites will embark sounders and imagers from the ultraviolet to the microwave range, a scatterometer and a radiooccultation instrument All applicants shall have the capability to write accurate and constant technical documentation. The official language for this position is English, therefore, candidates must be able to work effectively in this language. A knowledge of French would be considered to be advantageous.
