This site is primarily responsible for manufacturing space propulsion systems and satellite subsystems for telecommunications, navigation and Earth observation, for example satellite attitude control systems and solar arrays. Job Description For our client we are looking for a Software Development Engineer Embedded Systems RealTime for their location in Germany. Tasks and Responsibilities Design, Implementation and Validation of embedded realtime SW in the domain Space Systems matching the given quality and performance requirement according to Airbus engineering processes Transformation of System SW requirements into detailed SW requirements SW Design task scheduling, IO, functional algorithms Analysis of embeddedrealtime implementation constraints memory size, CPU load, deadlines HWSW interface design IO, interrupts, timing Implementation of SW requirements coding HWSW integration HW JTAG SW gdb debugging Support to Verification activities coding rules, metrics, code coverage Execution of SW validation activities unit testing, functional testing Configuration control of SW and validation elements Generation of SW documentation Work according to defined SW process Airbus internal and ECSS . Requirements At least a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics or Informatics At least 3 years of experience in Engineering and IT information systems Familiar with Space StandardsECSS PUS, MILbus, SpaceWire desirable Programming language skills C, Assembler SPARC, ARM, .. Embedded software engineer As an embedded software engineer, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative nanosatellite vehicle solutions for multiple projects. The individual will be responsible for software development during all phases of the software development cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, test, integration, and documentation in a fastpaced environment. Specific tasks will include Working in a small team environment closely with hardware and system engin eers to develop optimal solutions to complex problems Constructing, developing, and testing software applications, drivers, or middleware in a lowpower embedded environment. Participating in software requirements generation, design, implementation, and testing discussion with multiple team members. Integrating developed software with hardware test platforms, preexisting software, and new software developed by other team members. Maintaining new and preexisting software solutions to enhance feature sets and to consistently improve overall stability. Participating in team discussions involving vehicle architecture and design for ongoing and future projects REQUIREMENTS Specialization in embedded software development, preferably with experience in mobile and lowpower SOC platforms, such as OMAP, DaVinci, AVR, and SAM series. Additional experience developing baremetal firmware with microcontrollers is desirable. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, selfstarting, enthusiastic, and can perform duties autonomously. Summary An opportunity for an experienced embedded systems engineer to work in the Flight Software Systems Section onsite at ESAESTEC. Objective To provide support to Earth Observation Projects on the implementation and verification and validation of Flight Software. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Within the Flight Software Systems Section, support is provided to the Earth Observation projects EOP of the current and future ESA Earth Observation missions, e.g. Sentinel1, Sentinel2, Sentinel3, EarthCare, MTG. Support is also provided to Science missions such as BepiColombo, Solar Orbiter, and JUICE. This support includes monitoring and supporting the implementation, verification and validation of Flight Software. The contractor will be assigned to the Flight Software Systems Section of the Software Systems Division and shall function as an integrated team member of the development team, in charge of the following initial tasks General Support to Software Validation Facilities and Avionics Test Bench infrastructure activities. Emulators characterisation. Interface adaptations between SVF and Test Bench models. Adaptation and upgrade ATB EagleEye mission to Time and Space Partitions TSP and multicore configurations. Integration of TSP based system execution environment. Supporting integration of Multicore based system execution environment. Support dedicated projects SVF infrastructure development including processor simulator. Qualifications Experience A PhD or MSc or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Space Systems Engineering or a related discipline. At least 4 years of relevant work experience. In particular experience with Software engineering and objectoriented programming. Programming languages CC andor others. Embedded Real Time Systems and Real Time Kernels. Unix based systems.
