Product Assurance and Safety Support Engineer

For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Product Assurance and Safety Support Engineer. Main responsibilities You will be responsible for the following Operational PA support to the operations test and simulation activities including system verification and integration tests and launch simulation campaigns Operational PA support to launch, satellite commissioning and InOrbit Test activities Monitor and control the operations Anomaly and NonConformance Review process including organizing chairing, and participation to, Anomaly and Non Conformance Review Boards as required Operational PA input to system level reviews including, PDR, CDR, SQR, ORR and LRR. This position requires frequent mission travel within Europe. Ideal candidate Requirements You should bring a Master Degree or equivalent, at least 4 years of experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance in the aerospace domain and the following Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset Knowledge of Galileo Navigation is an asset Good interpersonal, organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment. Product Assurance Quality Assurance Manager

One of our clients in Germany is looking for a Product Assurance Quality Assurance Manager. The candidate will work as part of the team carrying out tasks from Product Assurance to leading internal external PA and QA staff. The focus of the respective products and developments is in the area of reflector antennas, lightweight structures, deployable structures, thermal hardware such as multilayer insulation for space applications. The main tasks of the post include the following Project Product Assurance Lead, planning and conductance of PAQA tasks dedicated to a specific project. Definition of subcontractor and supplier PA tasks, supplier evaluation. Control of subcontractor and supplier PA and monitoring of procurement activities. Material, parts and processes assurance internal external. Definition and coordination of inspection program. Planning and conductance of MIPS and KIPS. Analysis of request for proposals and preparation of such w.r.t. PA activities. Identifying critical development problems and trace their resolution. Supervision of material characterization campaigns up to subsystem level test campaigns. Evaluation of test results and elaboration of conclusions, definition of consequences. Monitoring of qualification status. Nonconformance control, reporting, processing and management same for RFW RFD. Preparation of project PA documentation e.g. PA Plan, Cleanliness Control, Plan, etc. Review and signature of project documents. Configuration management and control. Company Quality Manager Control of conformance of work with companys quality management system. Control, coordination and support of PA and inspection personnel. Toplevel monitoring of RD and project activities. Control and management of corrective and preventive actions on company level. Control the status and effectiveness of the lessons learnt process and database. Check calibration status of equipment, tools and facilities. Planning and performance of internal and external audits. Staff training on quality management system. Quality Management System Responsible Lead of Quality Management Handbook and QMS procedures issue of updates. Continuous improvement of companys quality management system. Supervision of Company Quality Manager of HPSPortugal. Check, control and improve synergies of HPS Germany and HPS Portugal processes. DUTIES The postholder will report to the Head of the Software Product Assurance SPA Section. The Section is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of SPA expertise and standards and for providing support to projects of the European Space Agency in the area of software product assurance. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, mathematics or software engineering and experience in at least three of the following areas software product assurance in critical realtime applications, software engineering, software configuration management, dependability assessment of software intensive systems, computeraided software development and maintenance, maturity assessment and auditing. Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills. They should have the ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team and individual objectives and project deadlines. In addition, applicants should have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest in innovative technologies. The Product Assurance Engineer will be part of the SES Resident Field Office located at the OHB facility in Bremen, Germany. The SES Field Offices are established at the manufacturer facilities to oversee all programme activities until the satellite is launched to ensure on quality, on cost and on schedule satellites that meet SES Customers needs. The Product Assurance Engineer is responsible for the quality standard of parts, materials and processes applied into the construction of the ELECTRA satellite. The Product Assurance Engineer shall ensure the contractual Product Assurance Plan is effectively and timely implemented for the ELECTRA programme, meeting contractual performance requirements, and maintaining SES reputation for technical excellence and delivery. The ELECTRA programme has two major phases and each phase will last approximately 36 months.
