The J&J drug, guselkumab, is now in its final stage of patient testing and in a couple of years likely will join other recent treatments that offer big improvements for the millions of patients with the common, painful skin disorder.

SC high court further reduces penalty in drug marketing case

South Carolina's highest court has further reduced the penalty against a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary accused of deceptive drug marketing. In 2011, a trial court ordered the drug maker to pay $327 million, saying Janssen broke the law by downplaying to doctors the links between diabetes and Risperdal and by improperly claiming the drug was safer than competing medications.

South Carolina's highest court on Wednesday further reduced the penalty against a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary accused of deceptive marketing of an anti-psychotic drug. In its ruling, the state Supreme Court ordered Janssen Pharmaceutica, Inc., to pay about $124 million - more than $200 million less than the original penalty amount.
