Multimission operations, including Storage Network Infrastructure SNI System Evolutions for existing and new programmes Manual and Automated system and satellite operations including planning and scheduling In addition, Defining and maintaining system operations procedures, including System and ground segment procedures and operations guides Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities Liaison with the ground segment facility operations teams and system operations analysts to ensure the continuity and optimisation of ground segment and mission operations through procedure and operations guide updates, configuration changes, database or user interface changes etc. Interfacing with the systems maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance, including participating in the definition and implementation of any changes Provisioning support to operational ground segment analyses Provisioning standbyoncall support as system operations engineer, on an as needed basis. This will be coordinated through the normal oncall process Provisioning support to critical operations Processing of system anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in Anomaly Review Boards Participating in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Processing of system modifications, including their documentation, approval, and implementation, including participation in Change Review Boards Supporting and participating in the functional verification and operational validation of system upgrades and evolutions, both standalone and in the context of an overall ground segment. Provisioning of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Team Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline At least five years experience in the following System operations in a realtime spacecraft operations environment Control room architectures and ergonomics At least three years work experience in the following Operation of spacecraft control systems Communications systems operations Defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground segment systems Definition, development, integration and acceptance testing of mission data systems Business continuity techniques and associated system operations Spacecraft operations preparation and routine operations of Geostationary GEO and Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems Experience of using configuration management systems such as CVS Familiarity with ECSS and CCSDS standards related to spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Knowledge of Windows Linux operating systems Ability to lead a small team of engineers Ability to work effectively in English How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Qualifications Experience Required experience of spacecraft system operations MSG andor MTP satellites operations or geostationary satellite operations in general Routine spacecraft operations in general Operations preparation of a satellite project. Coordinating the creation of Contingency Recovery Procedures to recover a satellite from an anomalous condition Academic and work related requirements A University degree in an engineering discipline is required.
