000 ABNT20 KNHC 152350 TWOAT TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 800 PM EDT MON JUN 15 2015 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: Surface observations and preliminary data from an Air Force Reserve Unit Hurricane Hunter aircraft currently investigating the area of low pressure located about 200 miles southeast of the middle Texas coast indicate that the center has become better defined since earlier today. If these trends continue, advisories will be initiated later this evening on Tropical Storm Bill. Data from the aircraft indicate that maximum sustained winds with the low are near 50 mph. Interests in and along the northwestern Gulf of Mexico should continue to monitor the progress of this system as it moves northwestward toward the Texas coast. Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, tropical storm conditions are likely along portions of the middle and upper Texas coast, and possible in extreme southwestern Louisiana, tonight and Tuesday. The system is also likely to bring heavy rainfall with possible flooding across portions of eastern Texas and western Louisiana. 000 ABNT20 KNHC 151752 TWOAT TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 200 PM EDT MON JUN 15 2015 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: An Air Force Reserve Unit Hurricane Hunter aircraft investigated the broad area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico this morning, and found that the circulation was too poorly defined to qualify the system as a tropical cyclone. However, thunderstorm activity continues to become better organized this afternoon, and the low will very likely become a tropical storm this afternoon or this evening as it continues moving to the northwest. Maximum sustained winds with the low are estimated to be near 45 mph, and interests in and along the northwestern Gulf of Mexico should continue to monitor the progress of this system. Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, tropical storm conditions are likely along portions of the middle and upper Texas coast, and possible in extreme southwestern Louisiana, tonight and Tuesday. 000 ABNT20 KNHC 151631 TWOAT SPECIAL TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 1235 PM EDT MON JUN 15 2015 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: Special tropical weather outlook issued to report on results of the aircraft reconnaissance mission. An Air Force Reserve Unit Hurricane Hunter aircraft has been investigating the area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico all morning. Data from the mission indicate that the circulation is highly elongated and lacks a well-defined center. Therefore the system is not a tropical cyclone and advisories are not being initiated at this time. However, the low still has the potential to become a tropical storm at any time before it reaches the Texas coast sometime tomorrow. The aircraft data do indicate that the system is producing winds of 45 mph or so to the east of the elongated trough axis, and interests in and along the northwestern Gulf of Mexico should continue to monitor the progress of this system. Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, tropical storm conditions are likely along portions of the middle and upper Texas coast, and possible in extreme southwestern Louisiana, Monday night and Tuesday. The system is also likely to bring heavy rainfall with possible flooding across portions of eastern Texas and western Louisiana.
