Oracle WebCenter Content Support 1313106 Job Description The consultant will participate in the following activities Analyse user and system requirements for enhancing DMT, Website, Intranet services and related applications, Perform trade off analysis, design and implement agreed changes and enhancements including redesign and reimplementation as needed, Define and implement interfaces between the Website, Intranet and DMT systems and other standard or legacy systems using both open standards and proprietary interfaces, Integrate existing and new applications to the Website, Intranet and DMT systems., Provide third level helpdesk support on user and engineering level as well as related services, systems and applications, Contribute to the project planning, monitoring and reporting by providing resource estimates, schedule inputs and progress information, Document tasks and deliverables according to EUMETSAT standards and guidelines. ERACLIM2 Engineering Support 1313100 Job Description The core objective for the ERACLIM2 project is to apply and extend the current global reanalysis capability in Europe, in order to meet the challenging requirements for climate monitoring, climate research, and the development of climate services. The project focus is on production and assessment of multidecadal reanalyses of the global climate system including atmosphere, land, ocean, and cryosphere, combined with consistent information on the carbon cycle. Two types of reanalysis will be produced an extended climate reanalysis of the 20th century at moderate resolution, and a higherresolution reanalysis of the satellite era. The project includes a coherent research and development program in coupled data assimilation, specifically targeted activities to extend the current capability to future fully coupled climate reanalyses. In addition, substantial work will be directed at data recovery, reprocessing, and quality control of input observations for reanalysis, with emphasis on improving and extending the usable satellite climate data records, and expanding access to early 20th century insitu observations. The challenging problem of providing meaningful uncertainty information for users of reanalysis data will be addressed by using ensemble techniques in reanalysis production, by conducting a variety of detailed quality assessments of input observations as well as reanalysis output, and by providing open and complete access to data and data visualization tools for users. The tasks of the Consultant will include Contributions to the product and algorithm specifications for all ERACLIM2 data records Implementation of relevant operational product processing chains in the reprocessing environment Implementation of relevant operational processors for the ERACLIM2 products into the operational reprocessing chains Development and implementation of operational functional and product quality monitoring procedures to be implemented in the reprocessing monitoring and validation system Analysis of resulting product quality of ERACLIM2 products employing the quality monitoring procedures and other validation techniques and data as appropriate Acquisition of relevant data from internal and external sources to support product quality monitoring in the reprocessing environment Execution of reprocessing campaigns for all planned ERACLIM2 data sets Preparation of ERACLIM2 data sets for ingestion into the EUMETSAT Data Centre Compilation of relevant data set documentation including validation reports, user guides and format descriptions Compilation of project result presentations and participation in project progress meetings. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. A minimum of 3 years experience in the implementation of software for operational processing using Metop andor Meteosat instrument data and in the validation of satellite derived products. AMV Support Consultancy 1313101 Job Description This document constitutes the Statement of Work SOW for consultancy support for a Meteorological Product Software Engineer Geostationary and low orbit Systems required as part of the Routine Operations phases of the Meteosat Transition Programme MTP, the Meteosat Second Generation MSG and the EUMETSAT Polar System EPS programme. The support is also required for the preparation of the future Meteosat Third Generation MTG programme. The Key person shall work in the Remote Sensing and Products Division RSP, supporting the routine operations of the MSG Meteorological Product Extraction Facility MPEF. In this facility, geophysical products level 2 , such as cloud, wind and radiance products, are produced operationally from METEOSAT data. These products are continuously generated and disseminated in near real time to the user community. The Key person will be involved in the implementation of updates to product algorithms of the MSG MPEF, as well as in developing supporting software tools as required. The key person shall be primarily responsible for the software that generates the MTP and MSG MPEF Atmospheric Motion Vector AMV products. This responsibility will in general include anomaly investigation and correction, algorithm enhancements and tuning, and collaborating with the operations engineers responsible for daytoday monitoring of the performance of the AMV product. Future activities will include improvements to algorithm performance, algorithm scalability, etc., based on the medium term product plans on improving MPEF for MTP and MSG and the preparation of the AMV algorithm for MTG. The last task will specifically include support to a prototype processor for MTG. Another wind product is generated from the EPS Metop satellites Polar Wind Product, where the Key person shall provide support in the area of product monitoring and algorithm updates. Within RSP, the key person will work in the team of the Atmospheric and Imaging Applications AIA in the group responsible for the scientific product development and implementation. The tasks of the Key person will typically include Algorithm software anomaly investigation and correction Design and implementation of algorithm enhancements or improvements Software feasibility analyses of proposed new product algorithms, or major algorithm upgrades Development of tools in support of product monitoring and product analysis, for example as part of MSG MPEF product validation testing Preparation of technical documents on product implementation issues Preparation of technical notes and reports as required Attendance at technical and RSPAIA team meetings as required The focus of these tasks will primarily be on the AMV products extracted from both geostationary and polar orbit systems however, there may tasks related to other products for which the work of the key person may be partially allocated. Required Skills and Experience University degree or comparable qualifications in Meteorology, Atmospheric Physics or related subjects. Minimum of three years experience of processing satellite or meteorological data. Specifically the Key person shall have Proven experience in the design, implementation, and testing of complex scientific algorithm software Proven experience of software development in C and Fortran in a UNIX environment Proven experience in software development using data visualisation and analysis tools e.g. IDL Experience in configuration control of software and data Sound knowledge and experience in the area of Atmospheric Motion Vectors extraction from satellite imagery, or experience with image processing algorithms in the area of feature identification and tracking would be a distinct advantage. Another distinct advantage would be experience in operational data processing. The Key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress, and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. The Key person shall possess good interpersonal skills. Fluency in English.
