JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks Contribute to the definition of the System Development Environment SDE requirementsprocesses related to the build, integration, installation and deployment of EGOSCC applications Collection of technical requirements with SDE service providers for the setup of the EGOSCC integration and validation environment Definition, setup and management of the EGOSCC build, integration and validation environment Definition and management of the EGOSCC reference configurations and tailoring data Definition and management of system level integration and validation test scenarios Definition and management of automated integration processes covering build, installation, deployment of EGOSCC applications Development of custom adapters and test doubles supporting the progressive integration and validation of EGSCC Integration Releases and associated EGOSCC product releases Progressive definition, setup and execution of system level validation scenarios of EGSCC Integration Releases and associated EGOSCC product releases Troubleshooting of problems identified in the course of the integration and validation activities Qualifications Master degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline Required knowledge Excellent knowledge of the Java language Concrete understanding of the principles of component based software engineering Good working knowledge of the following Java frameworks OSGi, Blueprint, Pax Exam, Maven. Good working knowledge of the Eclipse development environment Prior knowledge of the EGSCC is highly desirable Prior knowledge of the ESOC systems in particular Mission Control System and Ground Station Monitoring and Control System is desirable. During the EPSSG OGS development, the holder of this post will typically be involved in tasks related to the planning, preparation and execution of OGS IV activities and following up assessing IV activities performed as part of the OGS procurements. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the production of all OGS IV documents during Phase C, and their implementation in Phase D Update and maintain the OGS IV related schedule in coordination with Project Control Coordinate the IV approach with the System team to ensure coherence and completeness of the EPSSG OGS and System level approaches Follow and assess the IVV approach of all contributing elements of the OGS and ensure compatibility with the overall OGS IV Plan Establish and maintain the verification control mechanisms Ensure accurate metrics on IV progress are maintained Ensure implementation of the OGS IV plan through lower level test documentation, processes, test execution and relevant OGS reviews Attend sub segment IVV tests as observer, witnessing tests where requirements are verified Identify and support the acquisition of all necessary Test Tools and Test Data Support validation activities managed by the EPSSG System Team Report on a weekly and monthly basis to GS Management. These activities will involve interactions with other EUMETSAT teams, EUMETSAT partners and industrial contractors. Travel within Europe may have to be undertaken. Requirements University degree in engineering e.g. space or software engineering, or equivalent At least 5 years of general experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of Earth observation from space At least 3 years of involvement in the preparation andor execution of IV activities at Ground Segment level of such Systems Experience with the preparation of test plans, test specifications andor test procedures, prepared for IV of such Systems Experience of multi level verification processes and implementation Familiarity with procurement and use of Test Tools and Test Data Strong interpersonal and team working skills, flexibility, and strengths in analysis and pragmatic judgement are required Good computing skills with strong experience withability to use MS Office software Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, etc.. The following would be additional assets Proficiency in using DOORS Knowledge of systems development lifecycle Knowledge of ECSS standards.
