For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a candidate to perform Ground System Intergration and Validation Support in the European Ground System Common Core EGSCC Project. Tasks The requested services relate to the setup and management of the system level integration and validation activities of the EGOSCC based applications. The European Ground Systems Common Core EGSCC is a European initiative to develop a common infrastructure to support space systems monitoring and control in pre and postlaunch phases for all mission types. This is expected to bring a number of benefits, such as the seamless transition from spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Testing AIT to mission operations, reduce cost and risk, support the modernisation of legacy systems and promote the exchange of ancillary implementations across organizations. The main tasks to be accomplished by the service team are Contribute to the definition of the System Development Environment SDE requirementsprocesses related to the build, integration, installation and deployment of EGOSCC applications Collection of technical requirements with SDE service providers for the setup of the EGOSCC integration and validation environment Definition, setup and management of the EGOSCC build, integration and validation environment Definition and management of the EGOSCC reference configurations and tailoring data Definition and management of system level integration and validation test scenarios Definition and management of automated integration processes covering build, installation, deployment of EGOSCC applications Development of custom adapters and test doubles supporting the progressive integration and validation of EGSCC Integration Releases and associated EGOSCC product releases Progressive definition, setup and execution of system level validation scenarios of EGSCC Integration Releases and associated EGOSCC product releases Troubleshooting of problems identified in the course of the integration and validation activities Essential requirements The following expertise and background is required Master degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline Excellent knowledge of the Java language Concrete understanding of the principles of component based software engineering Good working knowledge of the following Java frameworks OSGi, Blueprint, Pax Exam, Maven. Good working knowledge of the Eclipse development environment Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Service provision will be exclusively in English Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Familiarity with the relevant ground data systems applications and associated test Environment Familiarity with scripting languages e.g. Groovy Familiarity with continuous integration activities and tooling Desirable requirements The following experience is considered highly desirable Prior knowledge of the EGSCC Prior knowledge of the ESOC systems, in particular Mission Control System and Ground Station Monitoring and Control System. Experience in working in a team Familiarity with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Knowledge of satellite or ground operations, or nonspace operational environments Other Information Start date is January 2017 This position is offsite office based with access to ESOC technical facilities as required. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a candidate to perform Mission Control Core Development Support within the ESA Ground Operations System EGOSCC Project. Tasks This position relates to the MICONYSCC Core Development activities, in the context of the EGOSCC Project. MICONYS stands for Mission Control System. It is a software suite that includes some of the products developed at ESAESOC with the purpose of providing a set of components that support space missions. It is a generic system that can be tailored to the needs of each mission the idea of MICONYS is to provide a platform on which diverse components are tested and are known to work together, reducing the effort and cost in terms of engineering when being deployed for a new mission or environment. The main tasks to be accomplished by the service team are Contribution to the definition of processestooling supporting the EGOSCC Development activities Collection of technical requirements to contribute to the EGOSCC system level design activities Collection of technical requirements to contribute to the EGOSCC system level Integration and Validation activities Definition of technical guidelines for developers of EGOSCC Components Contribution to the technical definition of the design model for EGOSCC Components, with particular focus to the ones required by the MICONYSCC Product Contribution to the verification of the design and implementation of relevant EGSCC Components Development of reference EGOSCC Components, to be adopted as templates for the development of MICONYSCC Core components Contribution to the development of selected MICONYSCC Core components, according to their agreed specification Contribution to the verification of compliance of MICONYSCC Core components to the applicable specification Essential requirements The following expertise background is required Master degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline Excellent knowledge of the Java language, preferably with an official Oracle certification Concrete understanding of the principles of component based software engineering Good working knowledge of the following Java frameworks OSGi, Blueprint, Maven Good working knowledge of the Eclipse development environment Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Service provision will be exclusively in English Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Familiarity with the relevant ground data systems applications and associated test Environment Familiarity with scripting languages e.g. Groovy Familiarity with continuous integration activities and tooling Desirable requirements The following would be considered highly desirable Prior knowledge of the EGSCC Prior knowledge of the ESOC Mission Control System infrastructure Familiarity with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Knowledge of satellite or ground operations, or nonspace operational environments Other Information Start date is January 2017 This position is offsite office based with access to ESOC technical facilities as required.
