Senior Operations Preparation Engineer

EUMETSAT is developing the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation satellites EPSSG which will monitor weather and climate from the midmorning polar orbit over a period of 21 years starting in 202425, based on three successive pairs of MetopSG AB satellites. Reporting to the EPSSG Operations Preparation Manager, the Senior Operations Preparation Engineer supports the EPSSG operations preparation at system level, from requirements, concepts and planning to the validation of the operations baseline and system operations procedures. Duties Develop Joint Operation Plans with development partners and other external entities, in coordination with the EUMETSAT Operations Department Coordinate the development and operational validation of System Operation procedures and timelines Manage the validation of operational scenarios, coordinate activities, teams and schedules for timely delivery of the operations baseline Serve as the focal point for coordination with the ground segment development and system Verification and Validation teams Support the EPSSG Operations Preparation Manager to achieve the required maturity of operations preparation at project milestones Support system in orbit commissioning, for the first and recurrent satellites Follow up and coordinate operability aspects of ground segment developments, to ensure safe and efficient operations Support the EPSSG System team for requirement traceability to Operations and concepts. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The position is responsible for transitioning current suite of products responsible for enterprise policy, deployment, patch management and application security to Microsoft IntuneSCCM. This role is also responsible for operationalization and ongoing support of Microsoft suite of applications, including product lifecycle management, monitoring and issue resolution. The position plays a critical role in the success of multiple SES initiatives to improve and automate patching and deployment utilizing Microsoft Intune. The position is responsible for device management, application management, application deployment and patch management on all platforms including, but not limited to Windows, MacOS, iOS, iPadOs, Android, Android Enterprise. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Design and support migration of current suite of products to Microsoft IntuneSCCM tools Ongoing operationalization and support of enterprise policy, patching, deployment via Microsoft Intune and SCCM Setup, deployment and maintenance tasks for the Operating System and thirdparty Software Patch Management Software packaging GPO transition towards Microsoft Intune Manage our internal and external process documentation Build internal support documents to capture steps used for issue identification, resolution and support reference Issue prioritization and escalation Development of new tools and processes to assist with automation, reporting and management of the services Identify incident trends and drive to remediate larger andor reoccurring issues Act as Second and Third level of escalation for Incidents On CallPrimary Contact availability Multilevel communication skills ability to speak to and troubleshoot with users of all levels.
