Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Flight onboard Software Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Flight Software Systems section within the Software Systems Division of the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management DTEC. Within the Flight Software Systems Section, support is provided to ESAs Earth Observation projects of the current and future ESA earth observation missions, e.g. Sentinel1, Sentinel2, Sentinel3, EarthCare, MTG. Support is also provided to Space Science missions such as BepiColombo, Solar Orbiter, and JUICE. This support includes monitoring and supporting the implementation, verification and validation of Flight Software. You shall function as an integrated team member of the Sections development team, in charge of the following initial tasks General Support to Software Validation Facilities SVF and Avionics Test Bench ATB infrastructure activities. Emulators characterisation. Interface adaptations between SVF and Test Bench models. Adaptation and upgrade ATB EagleEye mission to Time and Space Partitions TSP and multicore configurations. Integration of TSP based system execution environment. Supporting integration of Multicore based system execution environment. Support dedicated projects SVF infrastructure development including processor simulator. This is a fulltime position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is June 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. At least 4 years of relevant working experience in the aerospace industry. In particular experience with Software engineering and objectoriented programming. Programming languages CC andor others. Embedded Real Time Systems and Real Time Kernels. Unix based systems. Microprocessors such as SPARC LEON, ARM, multicores etc. Communication protocols Mil1553, SpaceWire, CAN. Knowledge of Space Systems and Space System Engineering will be an asset. You shall be able to function as part of a team.
