Summary A new opportunity for a senior software engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA, initially based in London for 6 months. Following this period, the work will transfer to our offices in Luton. Objective The successful engineer would support a team to port all of their software packages to Linux RED Hat 7.4, removing current dependencies from SolarisOpenwindows Oracle and Fortran code. This will include support to the documentation and testing of the system. Responsibilities Duties The Engineer will be working as part of the client team and will need to maintain a strong working relationship with the team leader. Duties include, but are not limited to Identifying and designing software changes required by the project. Implementing the required software packages and GUI in a Linux Red Hat 7.4 Environment Performing acceptance tests and dryruns. Support the coordination of the evolutions of these systems. Duties will include a range of tasks, from preparing and providing the support of the day to day operations and maintenance, the analysis and testing of deployments including the handling of anomalies, and the design of upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. Support the team acting as the focal point for integrating the individual PDGS software components into the related data processing systems, covering all aspects of system integration and testing, including support to the endtoend testing of the complete production system. Cover the contribution to the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures as well as the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. This may also entail the participation in the specification and development of monitoring tools for Sentinel3.
