We are looking for a Flight Dynamics Software Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design and development of Flight Dynamics software in various Space projects, such as our PLENITER Orbit suite. The successful candidate will work in our Darmstadt office in the Flight Dynamics Team. Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will have the following responsibilities Providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and general studies in the field of photonic components throughout all project phases with an emphasis on support to detector procurements for ESA projects Requesting support from, defining test plans and reviewing test reports from the EEE components laboratory in physical destructive analysis, constructional analysis or failure analysis of photonics components, and performing laboratory activities as required Defining, initiating and managing RD activities within the Agencys technology programmes related to development, evaluation and qualification of photonic EEE Components. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or in a related field Relevant professional work experience in an Industrial, Academic or RD environment General background and specific experience in the technical domains covered by the position, e.g. experience in manufacturing of photonic components, or experience in performing inspections of detectors Handson hardware experience Understanding of related technologies, RD trends and the industrial landscape Project support experience in a relevant domain Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Overview Support the Galileo Ground Segment PA Unit in all the activities related to the execution of the Galileo Ground Segment Product Assurance and Safety Programme. Guiding and monitoring the implementation of PAS requirements by contractors in order to assess performanceeffectiveness, participation in design reviews and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions Supporting the process for evaluation and approval of contractors waivers and deviations. Supporting the project nonconformance process and attendanceorganization of nonconformanceanomaly review boards as necessary. Ensuring the implementation of the Ground Segment PA Requirements baseline across the applicable Galileo Ground Segments. Monitoring the integration and test activities with quality assurance audits, mandatory and key inspection points, test witnessing and configuration inspections Supporting the definition of the formal acceptance requirements and conduction of acceptance reviews of all contractual deliverable items Ensuring the preparation of design tradeoffs, analyses and reports using RAMS data to support project decisions Supporting Security activities for ground segments as appropriate Support the maintenance of the Navigation Directorate Quality Management System. Support to launch campaigns. Specific qualification Requirements MSc. in Aerospace Engineering or relevant discipline. Minimum of 10 years experience in the space sector including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Engineer, Ground Systems Island of Man Douglas Your Job Based on the Isle of Man, you will implement and provide operational support for ground stations and systems processes, for the Isle of Man and teleports abroad, which are used to enable SES spacecrafts deploymentsoperations as well as to deliver services to SES customers. You will design, analyze, specify, implement and enhance SES TTC and Teleport Communications Systems, as well as the Ground Control Monitoring Systems that SES requires in order to fulfill its multiple satellite missions. This position will also require maintaining and enhancing Spacecraft Operation Control SOC infrastructures and associated baseband systems, the ranging and inorbit systems as well as the fix and mobile teleport infrastructures for payload signal uplinks or related IFRF measurement systems. You will lead andor support the above tasks for SES SL ground stations as well as internationally, for other SES entities located abroad. Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem Payload Island of Man Douglas Based in the Isle of Man, the Payload Engineer will support the development of the companys next generation of satellites and followup contracts with the satellite manufacturers, focusing mainly on the oversight of the payloads active antennas and solidstate power amplifiers SSPA. The successful applicant will work closely together with the SES engineering team located in Betzdorf, Luxembourg and with the SES Spacecraft Field Offices located around the world. The position involves following and reporting on the development of multiple satellite telecommunication payloads active antennas, SSPAs and overall satellite repeater modules. This position will require the post holder to travel up to 50 of their time. Responsibilities Include Together with the SES engineering team, perform the design, analysis and ensuing preparation of SES future satellite telecommunication payloads, including SESNext, focusing on latest radiating antennas and SSPAs technology. Support SES Field Offices in performing the oversight of the SESNEXT payloads active antennas and SSPA development and, as appropriate, attend relevant meetings and reviews with both SES internal and external stake holders spacecraft payload manufacturers, antennas and SSPAs suppliers. Early detection and identification of critical problem areas throughout the design, construction and test phases of the satellites payload. Safe guarding SES interests in the case of technical or programmatic issues arising. Experience Solid background in digital communicationRF engineering, satellite payload architecture and antennas Ability to find and propose pragmatic solutions on payload issues compatible with the cost and schedule of the program, and in close collaboration with the manufacturers, the SES field office team and the specialists within SES. Excellent communications skills both written and oral. Negotiation skills, assertiveness and ability to seek working solutions within program constraints. Qualifications University degree in one of the following fields ElectricalTelecommunicationRF and Microwave Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics or equivalent. Masters or Ph.D. is an asset. Experience in the design and development of solidstate amplifiers and active antennas. Solid experience with RF hardware, antennas, andor with payload system engineering, related to telecommunication satellites would be considered an asset. Knowledge in Link Power budgets.
