We are looking for a Sentinels Spacecraft Operations Engineer mfd to work at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany Your Tasks The Spacecraft Operations Engineer within the Sentinels Copernicus Teams will cover primarily the areas of Guidance and Navigation Engineering httpwww.esa.intOurActivitiesObservingtheEarthCopernicusOverview4 The Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE is responsible For the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during the operational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning, deorbiting For the participation to testing campaigns Simulations, SVT, inflight tests of the above mentioned missions. This SOE service team element within the Sentinels missions includes the following responsibilities Act as Expert operations engineer in the Sentinels Guidance and Navigation areas, during LEOP, Commissioning and Routine phases Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on OCP and AOCS, but also for other subsystems Support to test and operate the NDIU Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP support responsible for AOCS Commissioning support responsible for AOCS and OCP of the assigned Sentinels Missions and provide expertise on those areas to the any of the other Sentinels SOMs when required. The candidate is required to familiarise himherself with the missions heshe is supporting and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the Sentinel operations. The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing the assigned tasks. Your Profile Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in Satellite Flight Operations, including FDIR. Engineering from a recognised Institute of secondary studies or equivalent and minimum of 10 years experience in the space sector, including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance. Additionally, the person requires Relevant experience of application of RAMS engineering to space programs, including in ground andor ground based systems and operations. Relevant experience in PAS management in the space domain.
