This vacancy is for a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer to support specialist propellant tank and pressure vessel activities for spacecraft applications within Airbus Defence and Space, Stevenage. The role involves system level specification of these pressure vessels and supporting design verification and test activities, both with the inhouse design authority and peer review of externally designed components. This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. Preparation of systemsubsystemfunctional chain an element of a marketed solution architecture, integration, verification and validation, incl. specifications for assembly equipment. Planning and organization of integration, verification and validation. Provide architecture and specifications of a systemsub systemfunctional chain an element of a marketed solution. Prepare test campaign sequencing, test procedures facilities. Define test equipment and tooling requirements and ensure their timely availability. Perform andor monitor tests and perform realtime analysis of test results. Release test analysis correlation reports after test completion. Analogue Design Engineer

An Analogue engineer is required within the hardware team of the Communication Products group to work on the development of Digital Processors for Telecommunications Satellites, working for a variety of international and UK customers on a number of exciting projects for the European Space Agency. The hardware team is responsible for generating design concepts and detailed design, simulation and schematic capture of analogue and power circuits. This includes support to PCB layout using Mentor tools to validate power and signal integrity. The design process includes component evaluation and selection, PSpice simulation of designs and breadboard testing, and design support to manufacturing test for all our Digital Processor products. Key activities in this role will include Creating the analogue hardware elements of our Digital Processors, including circuit design, simulation and schematic capture with breadboard evaluation. Detailed support will be given to the PCB layout team to ensure the product meets stringent performance and specification requirements. Support to equipment FMECA and Parts Stress Analysis using spreadsheets and simulation tools. Validation of the hardware will require analysis simulation plus testing of breadboard models. Generating documentation to support the equipment design, following design processes and supporting technical customer reviews. Performing a Worst Case Analysis using circuit analysis and PSpice Monte Carlo simulation. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Circuit Simulation ie. Cadence PSpice. Experience with low voltage DC power systems supplying high speed digital electronics ie FPGA ASIC, ADC DAC. Experience of DCDC converters ideally for Avionics, Military or Space applications Power Design, or Power Conditioning, Power Supplies, Power FETs. Knowledge of PCB Design Mentor or equivalent. The role is a permanent position and the successful candidate will be based in Harwell, UK. JOB PURPOSE To work with the project manager to deliver on client contracts. Managing the technical elements of the client projects including solving complex engineering problems with the design and application of products and tools. CONTEXT This role exists to deliver on the technical requirements of client projects. The incumbent is expected to lead on meeting the technical requirements for complex projects including full systems integration involving hardware and software solutions. They are expected to deliver on contracted project requirements in a timely and cost efficient manner with care taken to meet all legal and regulatory requirements. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop system concepts and architectures for new and existing space flight systems. Specify interfaces between hardware and software to develop and integrate cohesive systems and products. Determine systems architecture specifications and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility and coordinate the development of subsystems to integrate the total system. Apply mature engineering knowledge to large andor complex projects in the design of products or tools. Ensure the complete and timely preparation of project materials and services in line with the technical specifications of the contract. Provide for the drafting and submission of purchase orders. Carry out the technical evaluation of suppliers and contactors. Ensure controlled distribution and storage of technical documents. Carry out the technical controls and tests for each project. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS EXPERIENCE Have a BSC or MSC or PhD degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years work experience in the space sector Large company preferred. Knowledge of FPGA, ECSS and issues of quality and safety. Knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration andor test of space flight hardware. Knowledge of RadHard components and dosimetry UK citizen preferred right to work in the UK is sufficient.
