The general responsibilities of the service will be technical support in the area of GNSS signal propagation and associated SBAS algorithms design, in particular for those effects linked the signal crossing the Earths atmospheric layers i.e. ionosphere and troposphere and those related the local reception environment e.g. multipath and interference. SBAS processing algorithms designed at SBAS level to provide satellites orbits and clock corrections, ionosphere delay corrections and their associated integrity confidence information. Specific tasks will include 1 Engineering support to the coordination and critical assessment of all propagation and associated SBAS impact design related issues within EGNOS Project Office including algorithm assessment and recommendations 2 Engineering support to the critical assessment of SBASs processing algorithms, in particular for those related to mitigating the impact of scintillation, ionosphere temporal and spatial TEC gradients and interference and for those related to improve the overall SBAS system monitoring availability. 3 Engineering support to the critical assessment of GNSS threats impact modelling definition and justification at SBASs level. 4 Engineering Support to the animation of an international technical subgroup e.g. contributing to IWG Technical Subgroup related to GNSS and Ionospheric modelling and processing e.g. for ionosphere TEC temporal and spatial gradients and scintillations 5 Participation and contribution to multimodal e.g. Aviation, Maritime GNSS standardisation groups for what concerns GNSS signal propagation effects modelling and processing 6 Engineering Support to the management of several RD projects related to GNSS signal propagation e.g. MONITOR, Multipath Studies, Interference mitigation 7 Engineering Support to the preparation and validation of ionospheric and scintillation model data and delivery to EGNOS V2V3Evolutions Contractors 8 Engineering Support to the coordination with respect to GNSS signal propagation related subjects modelling of the navigation propagation signals using stateof theart software tools and databases modelling of ionospheric propagation conditions and their effects on SBAS satellite navigation missions 9 Support the definition of campaigns to serve RD and other EGNOS project needs e.g. for scintillation monitoring. 10 Support in the planning and execution of RD activities as well as in managing the necessary software tools and databases related to IONO modelling and processing. The work will involve occasional travel for attendance to meetings and reviews. Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, physics or Computer science with proven knowledge and experience in the fields of Algorithms, Navigation and related data.. You have tknowledge and experience in the following areas EGNOS standards e.g. MOPSSARPS EGNOS GNSS threats impact models and associated integrity continuity justification files EGNOS system algorithmic performance related design justification in particular concerning propagation effects algorithmic solutions in SBAS GNNS signals and RD projects Experiences in, procurement of industrial activities Knowledge and experience in using and assessing EGNOS performance simulations and tool You have a good knowledge of MS office tools and DOORS. You have a good inter personal skills and team spirit and a previous working experience in a multinational environmen. Organization, good practical sense, being able to work effectively in a team and be able to autonomously take decision in his field of responsibility. Passionate Equipping Design Engineer wanted for an exiting career in Space! Are you looking for a role where you can support the Equipping Design process during the whole life cycle? Are you looking for a role where your eye for details, methodical and systematic design skills are essential? Then this is the role for you! You will be joining the Equipping team looking after multiple projects, working within the Mechanical Platform group which performs the detailed design of geosynchronous communications spacecraft and other developments. The Equipping team define components on the spacecraft, including heatpipes, paint, thermostats, heaters, thermistors, second surface mirrors, mainly thermal multilayer insulation together with tybases and connector brackets. The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK BPSS Security Clearance to undertake the role. Liaising with the design office and other groups to optimise the design definitions. Accountability for signing off the design and responsibility for the output of the team. Organising regular meetings agreeing and tracking data deliverables. Checking the design office output drawings, 3D models etc. and being responsible for the release of drawings. Managing and providing technical guidance to the design office. Managing relevant workpackages and providing input for the control of costs and schedule as required by the projects. An Appreciation of CATIA V5 or CATIA V6 is desirable. Good verbal and written communication skills as you will be knowledge sharing within internal and external departments. Ability to Manage people from different disciplines. Experience of working within the Engineering, Telecoms, Automotive, Space, Aerospace or similar industry. Any knowledge experience of PDM tools specifically Windchill is desirable however training is provided.
