You will carry out Lead Designer activities for Spacecraft Structure design tasks. You will oversee day to day activities for a small team of Design Engineers ensuring all customer requirements are supported. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Responsible for the control, correctness, accuracy and relevance of all drawings, models, Digital Mock Up DMU, bills of materials and Engineering Change Notes as related to the configured items for allocated project s to cost and schedule. Ensuring all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office MDO are correct to the project requirements as stated by the core team generally the Responsible Engineer All the project DO outputs must be checked, signed and stamped by the lead design engineer to the checklists and CATIA procedures. Authorised design signatory for manufacturing drawings, BoMs and ECOs related to the allocated project. Specific responsibility for the estimation and planning of DO related activities and manpower requirements to meet those tasks. Allocation of manpower is sought through the Team Leader. Supervision and mentoring of other DO design engineers working on the project. Provide support to other general DO activities, e.g. Process improvements, bids etc. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree in an Engineering discipline with working background the Aerospace industry. Excellent working knowledge and experience of CATIA V5. Strong Engineering technical background including working knowledge of GDT Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing and DFM Design for Manufacturing. Practical understanding of Design solution. Experience managing a small team would be desirable. Experience managing work packages, dealing with budgets and headcount requirements would be desirable. One of our space clients based in the UK are looking for a Digital Designer Engineer. This is a permanent role which involves the design of digital hardware, including PCB, FPGA level design and also includes embedded software design on target microcontrollers. Key Tasks High Speed Digital Hardware Design Schematic capture board level design. Embedded software development of 81632Bit Microcontrollers. Design, implementation and verification of FPGAs in VHDL. Hardware Debugging and board bring up. Responsible for Manufacture, Test and Delivery of Existing Hardware Designs. Generation of appropriate design documentation. Work closely in a core project team. Responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the defineddelegated package of work which includes Technical Solution, Budget and Schedule. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of FPGA design in VHDL. Good knowledge of writing embedded software in C and assembler. Knowledge of Lab Test Equipment. Commitment to deliver to challenging schedules. Good interpersonal skills. Organised approach. Good planning skills. Good English skills are essential. Experience Several years experience of digital board level design. Experience of analogue circuit design desirable but not essential. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Follow the customer interface requirements specification, and equipment EICDs to develop the harness design to be compliant to overall system requirements. Define and manage the spacecraftsubsystem link list using defined tools and processes. Define routing in conjunction with the MDO during dedicated Digital Mock Up reviews. Support manufacturing on a daytoday basis to solve implementation problems and follow testing. Create test reports demonstrating compliant performance, and support Test Review Boards with the customer.
