Responsibilities Duties Tasks Our subsidiary CS GmbH, located in Darmstadt, is looking for a Project ManagerTechnical Leader. The activity will be performed at CS GmbH premises at Darmstadt. The key person will integrate the backoffice to manage a team of software engineers ensuring the development and maintenance of space softwaresystems. The selected candidate will report directly to the project director of CS GmbH. This activity includes, among others, the following tasks Management of the project team Followup of activities and anticipate needs Reporting to the team and management Monthly accounting reporting to the management Support to technical meetings with customers Mandatory skills background You will have M.Sc. in Computer Science Engineer, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent. You will also be able to demonstrate at least 3 years of demonstrated handson experience in Project Management disciplines i.e. risk management, action control, reporting, planning Development life cycle systems engineering You will have a strong technical background in the space domain and Ground Segment software with experience in software development or maintenance in the space environment for ESA andor EUMETSAT In addition you will Be fully proficient in business English Have a sound knowledge of related QA processes and procedures, preferably applied in space projects ECSS Have good office computing skills and handson experience in using the MS Office Suite Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interface efficiently with both the management and technical level Have the ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner and be able to work calmly and correctly under stress Be able to draft concise management reports and executive level presentations in English and the capability and experience to fulfil the assigned support tasks with a minimum of supervision Have experience of working on a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. Be organised and able to work autonomously in a challenging environment Direct experience of project management and scheduling for spaceground segment development or operations and with the ECSS lifecycle or equivalent will be considered as an advantage We look forward to hearing from you!

Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The Spaceopal SPO System Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team. The role requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams and with other GSOp teams, promoting the related information transfer as for tasks below described. The main responsibility is to support the harmonized and coordinated System Engineering processes and activities spanning over all Galileo infrastructure, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the Evolution Manager to whom shehe will report on the matter. Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following Supporting the operations preparation and operational validation of new infrastructure deployments and related operational scenarios and products ensuring these can be declared fit for providing services In this context, support the Evolution Manager to prepare the engineering specifications and to monitor the followon development Promoting and followingup engineering specifications and developments for system infrastructure and service evolutions as originated directly from SPO or from GSOp partners In the context of a Galileo Ground Infrastructure Release cycle Coordinate the GSOp support to HWSW infrastructure SegmentElement Design, Development and Verification and Qualification milestone reviews and campaigns prior to and as these reach deployment to Galileo sites Contribute to operational products development and validation planning for System and Service operations spanning across more sites and entities, monitoring the operational readiness Ensuring adequate monitoring and contribution by GSOp teams during SystemSegmentService verification and qualification campaigns as led by the Design Authority andor final Customer Cooperating with the SPO Ground Segment Engineers GMS and GCS for a harmonized management of the system engineering activities in the framework The Spaceopal SPO System Engineer is also required to develop technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular reports on status of activities. Further it will be important to occasionally contribute, as and when required to SPO technical proposal preparation processes liaising with SPO legal and contracts to the execution of other ongoing SPO contracts beyond the scope of GSOp. Required Qualification and Experience To be eligible, a candidate must Hold a degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformaticsAerospace Engineering or Physics or Math with at least 5 years of work experience alternatively, 8 years related work experience Have a Systems Engineering formation, best if developed in the Space industry and in international environmentsprojects Proven working experience in space industry, space operations, or satellite services Have experience and background in Satellite Navigation and related mission services engineering Have knowledge and experience in Security and related processes Have experience and background specific to GALILEO program, in particular The GMS and GCS Segment architecture and operations KPI and Metrics analysis The job requires also Strong problemsolving skills Fast decision making in case of service impacting problems Ability to work in intercultural and geographically distributed work environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal liaising and communication skills with strong attitude to team work Handson mentality and systematic, selforganized, able to prioritize way of working Fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of Italian andor German also appreciated Fluency in standard office automation tools MS Office, Email, Internet, etc. Work location Spaceopal Headquarter Munich, Germany. It could be necessary to spend time periodically at the GCCD Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany andor at the GCCI Fucino, Italy. Further, it could be necessary to participate to meetings in the above locations and in other relevant project locations in Europe. Openings 1 The position is full time.
