Senior Specialist, Technical Training

The Technical Training Manager is responsible for the leadership and organization of training development and delivery to both internal and external customers. The Technical Training Manager will initially develop an mPower focused Jobset specific curriculum designed primarily for internal operations staff, ultimately the role will be centered on SES NextGen operations and other functions serving all MEO and GEO assets. The Technical Training Manager will be encouraged to use a blend of online, partner and internal training assets in order to deliver a bestinclass training program where outcomes in terms of increased operational efficiency and optimal problem solving will be key. This role will be supported by a training administration function albeit this role will drive training program organization and administration activities. Reporting to this role on a virtual basis will be multiple contract training staff, this role will facilitate their predelivery training, monitor quality of delivery and drive corrective actions when required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Perform periodic Training Needs Analysis exercises in order to develop and maintain a Jobset based training curriculum inclusive of all training requirements of internal, third party and customers Develop and publish clear and concise training objectives for each training module within the curriculum Collaborate closely with both equipment vendors third party training delivery agents in order to support course development and drive content quality Ensure all course modules are beta tested and approved prior to internal or external consumption Ensure courses are periodically updated and reviewed for accuracy Support the development of online training classes by sourcing relevant internal material and securing the attention and consultancy of subject matter experts Perform periodic quality audits on instructorled training modules and ensure training is complete, accurate and professionally delivered Select, test and certify both internal and thirdparty training instructors Design a set of agreed training quality metrics and report progress on a monthly basis, training quality measurement should include the use of student feedback forms. Oversee training administration to successfully deliver training ontime with a certified training instructor and at a suitable location Be a member of any Service Integrated Product IPT team and support the training requirements of the service being developed Develop and maintain a future roadmap of training courses being developed in time for service or product release, develop a detailed plan to ensure roadmap dates are delivered Where required support oneoff and possibly bespoke training requirements of a specific customer Ensure each training module is supported by a testing regime, collate and report student performance on a monthly basis Develop and publish a training schedule on a quarterly basis Collaborate closely with the Leaning Management organization to ensure all training modules are accessible through the corporate LMS Manage, assign and schedule contract Trainers as required Collaborate with marketing to develop training marketing materials Additional tasks, responsibilities and projects as assigned by Line Manager COMPETENCIES A strong communicator and a world class attitude to customer service Sense of urgency, initiative and competitive drive to get things done Resourcefully working through or around any blockers Ability to analyze issues, troubleshoot and make decisions Sense of ownership and responsibility Ability to work at in a fast pace environment Ability to multitask and complete tasks with little to no supervision Ability to lead without direct control Strong presentation skills and the ability to command and control an audience Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Grammar, proofing, and editing skills QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Degree Education in an engineering discipline Customer focused mindset and knowledge of customer needs Excellent command of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio Strong ability to convert technical information into easy to understand documents Minimum of 10 years experience in Satellite Communications Minimum of 5 years experience in training development and delivery Knowledge of Satellite systems and operations WHATS IN IT FOR YOU? Technical Sales Bid Manager

Astroscale is seeking to employ a motivated Technical Sales and Bid Manager at our UK office based in the Harwell Space Cluster. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a dynamic company seeking to make a positive contribution to the growing problem of orbital debris that endangers humanitys continued use of space. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Future Business Europe within the Business Development Sales team and support in the production of highquality bids and technical sales for Astroscale UK. Astroscales work environment is fastpaced and dynamic, with plenty of opportunities to learn and contribute. This role would suit someone with existing commercial BDS experience of space programmes, who wants to work for a global startup at the forefront of space sustainability and active debris removal services. Responsibilities Take responsibility for planning for and coordinating bids, or parts of bids as required, through the bid process from call opening all the way to bid submission, managing the bid, to quality, time and cost. Work on small bids independently within the candidates technical area of expertise or seek support from technical specialists within Astroscale in supporting more technically complex bids as needed. Draw on other relevant teams in Astroscale as needed for larger bids, including projects, engineering, procurement contractual, finance, business analysis teams. Conduct bidno bid reviews and later stage bid reviews e.g. gold red team as appropriate. Support continuous improvement of bid process and best practice. Support management of the sales pipeline. Keep track of bid opportunities including sources such as ESA, EU, UKSA and make propositions as to what future projects fit which opportunities. Maintain a database of future projects suitable for different bid types and opportunities, and work with the business team to support prioritisation of projects and RD, feeding into service and capability strategy. Support the Head of Future Business in other day to day business activities as needed, including customer partner engagement, providing inputs into business strategy documents. Essential Skills 3 5 years experience working on BD sales in a commercial space environment. Experience of working on bids of various different sizes, from 1 to 2 pager propositions for expressions of interest, to small RD bids, to larger mission service proposals of hundreds of pages. A good grasp of all core domains commonly seen in bids technical, commercial, financial, implementation, management, contractual, risk. An excellent sales marketing style in bid production which can be used to convey the selling points of the business, An ability to understand win strategy themes, enabling construction of competitive but deliverable bids. A minimum of 3 years direct experience of and successful track record in the UKSA Innovate and ESA ecosystems and bidding into UKSA Innovate and ESA calls on space projects. Experience of the project lifecycle, engineering lifecycle and key engineering gates, RD innovation and technology maturation. Passionate about space with knowledge of the space environment and space debris. Desired Skills Postgraduate degree in engineering or similar discipline. Strong understanding of the space industry and ecosystem. A technical understanding of a single space domain or broad understanding across multiple technical domains would be an asset. Strong commercial awareness. Some experience or knowledge in the following areas would be an asset debris removal, inorbit servicing, mission systems architectures, robotics, guidance, navigation control, AI, SSA. Any past relevant training or certifications e.g. Shipley, Prince2, APMP. Location Astroscale UK Harwell, with occasional opportunities for travelling.
