We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer Astronomy Euclid to support our customer in Germany. Key Tasks and Responsibilities As a member of a team providing services to ESOC you will be providing support for the Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Mission EUCLID. You will have the following responsibilities Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project Flight Control Software Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service Production of Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOVT, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP, Spacecraft Commissioning and Mission Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Master degree in engineering or equivalent qualification Spacecraft subsystem knowledge with focus on Thermal and Power subsystems Activities applicable to spacecraft operations Mission Data Systems from Operator point of view, i.e. MCS and Simulators Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. The following experience would be advantageous Familiarity with the ESOC environment Satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000, in particular visualization MIMICs External interfaces like the Science Operations Centre, the PROJECT Team of a mission and the industry team for developing the space segment Operational simulators, especially based on SimSat Astronomy missions MOIS File Based Operations CCSDS File Delivery Protocol Programming languages like C, Phyton, Java scripts. Job Description We are looking for an experienced SOE, specializing in the area of thermal and power onboard subsystems. Summary An opportunity for an experienced Software engineer, with development and validation skills, to work on the Euclid Archive. Objective The Eucid mission objective is to map the geometry and understand the nature of the dark universe and the Euclid Mission Archive EAS has a central role in the Euclid mission. It is the role of the Euclid Common Data Model ECDM, which is developed across the Science Ground Segment SGS, to support full data lineage. The engineer will support the Science Ground Segment SOC design and implementation of this system. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Tasks specific to the Euclid SOC Development and Maintenance Develop and maintain the Euclid data lineage framework for the Euclid Archive within the SOC software development environment Delivery of software to the configuration control system Support to definition of ICDs controlling the interface of the Euclid data lineage viewer to Euclid Archive System. Tasks specific to validation and operation of the Euclid SOC system Test and validate new deliveries of software, including regression testing Report on progress and problem areas Participate in the Configuration Control Boards applicable to the development Qualifications Experience A PhD or MSc or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. At least 10 years of relevant work experience. Software system architecture and development with specific experience in object oriented software design and development using version control systems. Software development processes and tools configuration management, code generation, continuous integration, automated testing, metrics, coding styles and rules. Modelling technologies, methodologies, and IDE UML. Essential Skills Good English language skills Excellent communication and presentation skill Software development and software engineering coding with experience with Python applications with good broad knowledge of Python.
