Polyester prices have begun dropping in China, as a consequence of the coronavirus crisis, which has frozen further downward textile production after holidays. PTA and MEG prices have plunged in the last week, and could drop to even lower levels when sales resume in China. Inventory levels are surging, as fiber and textile production are still frozen, with workers finding it difficult to return to work, even when allowed to do so.
