Orange starts partial sale of rural FTTP infrastructure assets in France report

(Telecompaper) Orange has reportedly hired Credit Suisse to manage the partial sale of Orange Concessions, a new subsidiary that will own the open access fibre networks that the operator has been deploying in French rural areas. According to Les Echos, the first round of an auction will take place this week after the sale attracted several potential buyers. Interested parties include infrastructure investors such as Australian fund manager IFM and US firm I Squared, as well as a number of institutional investors based in France (CNP, Credit Agricole Assurances, Caisse des Depots, EDF Invest) and abroad (Singapore's GIC and Canadian CDPQ).

Orange to launch 5G service in France during December, unveils new plans

(Telecompaper) Orange customers in France will start benefiting from the operator's 5G service during December. Featuring on the Orange website, the news coincides with the launch of four new 5G-compatible voice and data plans. At the entry-level price point, customers will pay EUR 39.99 per month, after the initial 12-month discount, for a plan including unlimited calls/texts and 70 GB of 5G data. This represents an additional EUR 5 per month compared to an LTE plan with the same data and calls/texts allowance.

Orange launches Sanza Touch smartphone in Africa

(Telecompaper) Orange has announced the launched of the Sanza Touch to Africa. The smartphone aims to improve mobile internet access and is supported by Google, building upon efforts since the launch of Android Go edition in 2018. The device will retail at around USD 30, which is intended to make it the most accessible on the market.
