Ground Segment Systems Operations Engineer 162130 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Systems Operations Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT. You would be working within the System Engineering and Projects Division supporting system engineering activities for Operational systems. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team interacting with operational programmes and future programmes and will support the SEP Division with the following activities Supporting the consolidation, evolution and maintenance of the Ground Segment reference architecture. Supporting the assessment of impacts to the Ground Segment of changes required for operational systems, resulting from evolution and maintenance activities. This includes analysing engineering change requests on the operational ground segments supporting the investigation of anomalies on the ground segment, thanks to the endtoend view and understanding of the systems coordinating with different teams in order to assess the impact of the requested changes attending daily operationrelated meetings in order to remain uptodate with the progress of the activities. Supporting the update and maintenance of the documentation of operational ground segments as follow up actions stemming from agreed evolution and changes of the systems. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline Experience in the field of systems engineering, maintenance and operations of ground segment systems Experience in maintenance and evolution lifecycle Knowledge of the systems making up a ground segment, their interrelations, interactions and understand the implications that making changes in one system have on others. Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with formal architecture frameworks e.g., MODAF, TOGAF, DODAF will be a valuable appreciated asset. Definition, management and traceability of requirements with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. You will join the Ground Equipment department of the Telecommunications satellite division in Toulouse. This department is responsible for procuring, installing, configuring and operating the control centres used for Validating the operation products, launching telecommunication satellites into orbit, receiving and analysing the telemetry of all the AIRBUS telecommunication satellites and stationkeeping as backup to our customers. This control centre TSOC Toulouse Satellite Operation Centre is made up of a set of hardware Sun, Linux, SAN, workstation, etc. and software products developed within the division or by other Airbus teams, or provided by external subcontractors. They are connected to a communications network with the TMTC antennas and with the customers control centres. In this context your main task will be to provide inservice support for all the entire TSOC IT infrastructure and being responsible for its revisions. As a ground segment engineer, you will also be involved with the positioning phases of telecommunication satellites.
