ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Senior Terminal Solutions is a key member of the SES Next Generation User Terminal development team providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of satellite terminal and baseband systems development and testing. The engineers primary objective is to support the development and testing of a more integrated Customer Edge Terminals. This Senior engineers primary focus shall include Supporting the development of customer premise equipment CPE designed to provide value added services to our customers as well as simplify the overall terminal solution, including but not limited to performing ACU, MC and scheduling functionality, performing packet processing and MEF compliance, and providing additional products and services asdefined by product. Supporting the development of edge connectivity solutions including WIFI, LTE and 5G base station solutions Supporting the development of solar based terminal, based on future mPOWER modem and antenna developments. Supporting modem platform development and testing efforts of the TMR and RF combining features Supporting antenna developments including FPA, and vertical specific developments fixed, maritime, aero, etc PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Responsible for testing and validation of the CPE solutions and integrating it with the larger terminal architecture as well as supporting the development of the core functionalities of the CPE including ACU, MC and Scheduling Supporting andor lead other strategic developments as identified by the product team including but not limited to SDR modems and solar powered terminals. Support other key terminal developments including modems, FPAs, etc. Identifies needs, estimates costs, and justifies request priorities for integration efforts Effectively communicate status of ongoing projects to technical and nontechnical stakeholders Perform System Engineering design and analyses in support of the SES Networks Ground System terminal and baseband systems development and implementation Provide technical leadership to subcontractors, vendors and partners to ensure the system is delivered in a timely manner within budget, meeting all performance criteria Support the development and validation of ground terminal implementation, integration, and certification processes Evaluates new and emerging technologies for introduction or integration into the technical roadmap Liaise with the other O3bmPOWER support functions to develop an integrated system Concept of Operations Develop and document requirements, specifications, interfaces, and test plans to supporting the Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment programs Support the transition of the new terminal elements to operations ensuring the proper tools and training are in place Other adhoc tasks, as assigned by Line Manager COMPETENCIES Actively seeks listens to feedback from customers and addresses them appropriately. As part of the User Support and Climate Services Division, the training team is responsible for user training outreach activities in support of national services exploitation of the EUMETSAT data to get the societal benefits outlined in our strategy. The post holder will report to the lead of the Weather Training portfolio within the User Support and Climate Services Divisions training team. The team of training officers works across several application domains. This new post will focus on user training and outreach activities in support of national services exploitation of the future EUMETSAT missions MTG and EPSSG in particular for application across operational meteorology and hydrology. The target audiences will be operational staff, application developers and scientists. What youll be doing To design, deliver and evaluate training courses, for forecasters, scientists and application developers that enable the exploitation of EUMETSAT data in operational forecasting. To build the network of subject matter experts that supports the implementation of the training activities. To provide thematic leadership within the networks of external contributors and users, providing high quality advice on potential application pathways in operational meteorology and hydrology i.e. where they add most value in the forecasting process. Contribute directly and with user contributions to the EUMETSAT website topical images case studies library.
