User Training Support

Position Reference 015 You will have the opportunity to support ESA in preparing, maintaining and distributing packages of EO training materials and organizing training courses at ESRIN and at other locations. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Collect, select, harmonise, and integrate training material drawn from a wide range of specialist sources e.g. ESA, external experts including handout documentation, demonstration software, webbased course materials, and online training tools Produceupdate selfcontained packages of training materials in English language on a specific aspect of EO exploitation covering ESA , Sentinels and 3d Party EO missions, sensors, data products and the most uptodate exploitation methods Generate customised training packages suitable for courses at a variety of levels and adapted for a range of training audiences e.g. decisionmakers in publicservice, graduate postgraduate students, secondaryschool level classes Support the installation, configuration and testing of training packages incl. demonstration software modules, web tools and preselected example data sets on the dedicated training PCs in the training room at ESRIN and other locations Support the review of training material developed for and delivered to the Agency by 3d parties e.g. Eduspace modules, LEOWorks software tools Prepare or coordinate individual trainingcourses Supervise practical sessions Deliver specific coursemodules or talks based on customised training packages Prepare dedicated Advanced Training Event websites using off the shelf CONFTOOL Support the Agency in the preparation of dedicated MOOCs focused EO exploitation in the content definition, development of specific material and specialised support to the MOOC project team as appropriate Prepare a user satisfaction survey using off the shelf tools and Deliver summary reports on feedback from course attendees Support the maintenance and further evolution of the ESA EO education web site Maintaining and logging the daytoday contacts with external groups who are involved in the Agencys EO training activities e.g. member States organisations, external training and educational organisations, valueadding companies Post the lecture material, lecture recorded videos, and as appropriate data sets training software tools on the relevant website e.g.EO4society , Earthnet, ESA education Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a qualified to tertiary level with e.g. professional diploma or certification, or university degree in subjects relevant to communication or EO. You have at least 5 years of experience in a directly relevant industrial or research environment. Extensive experience of ESA EO missions, related science and applications Specialist skills in exploitation of SAR and passive microwave sensors, Optical remote sensing of landocean, Radar Altimetry, Atmospheric sounding, Experience of EO data ordering, handling, processing archiving Expertise in image processing SW GIS tools e.g. Envi, ERDAS, ArcGIS, Arcinfo Experience in designing and producing training materials Experience in organising and performing training courses at different levels Good knowledge of EO data products, formats, and analysis tools, Good communication and technical writing skills How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Position Reference 014 You will have the opportunity to support ESA on both external and internal communications related to the EO programmes missions and exploitation projects Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Maintaining and logging the daytoday contacts with external EO users including programme actors, companies and user organisations involved in valueadding project activities, international organisations, new EO user communities Collect and register information and documentation coming from them Planning and maintenance of actions lists Preparation of missions for experts coming to ESRIN management of mission requests, interfacing with Travel Agency, taxi bookings, registration in the online Mission Approval System, mission completion claims, etc. Creation of nonspecialist general information broadsheets and newsletters Setup and administer small, dedicated online databases Lotus Notes, Access and archives to facilitate the internal sharing and updating of information on common divisional documents, divisional projects register, progress reporting, project planning, mission reports, actions status, common calendars Support the organisation of exploitation events e.g. workshops, symposia, UN COP including logistics planning, creation and administration of websites and databases for the management of abstract submission, programme definition, registration, document exchange, coordination of actions during event Support the deployment of dedicated Event User websites ie. Workshop or Training Course using off the shelf CONFTOOL Prepare a user satisfaction survey using off the shelf tools and prepare a report Support the creation of communication material for event announcements Build and administer documentation retrieval and archiving systems Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a qualified tertiary level with e.g. professional diploma or certification, or university degree in subjects relevant to communication or EO. You have at least 5 years of experience in a directly relevant industrial or research environment. Facebook grows Q4 revenues 30%, net profit up over 60% as user growth undiminished

(Telecompaper) Facebook's fourth-quarter results showed little signs of a slowdown, with revenues up 30 percent year-on-year to USD 16.91 billion. The company's net profit soared 61 percent to USD 6.88 billion, helped by a sharp fall in its tax bill. Operating profit rose a slower 6 percent to USD 7.82 billion, and the margin fell to 46 percent from 57 percent a year ago.

Position Reference 003 RHEA Group is currently recruiting an EGNOS User Segment Engineer to support standardisation activities in the field other market segments than aviation maritime, rail, road, etc.. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the standardisation of SBAS services and SBAS receivers for other uses than aviation Contribute to write the service provision concepts with the user community, defining typical operational goals for the service, then determine and validate user segments requirements e.g. Receivers minimum operational performance specifications, or similar Contribute to the service engineering for other market segments than aviation maritime, rail, road, etc., notably by defining activities required to standardise the service, the system andor user receivers e.g. testbed, test user receiver, pilot project Support the EGNOS Standardisation Engineer in the standardisation of SBAS receivers within the standardisation fora of the different user communities, organising and managing the production of the deliverables and contributing to their edition Support the EGNOS Standardisation Engineer in liaising with the stakeholders which contribute to standardisation of EGNOS Services, notably by preparing publications, presentations and writing minutes of meetings Support the supervision of activities outsourced by the Service Engineering team for DFMC User Segment projects Contribute to writing technical specifications of GSA prototyping projects for maritime, rail, road and other market segment if need be Provide technical expertise for project reviews of receiver prototypes Contribute to preparing Technical Specifications for GSAs standardisation activities Procurement and Grants Contribute to other tasks of the EGNOS Service Engineering team, as necessary. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters Degree in the relevant discipline You have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience You have experience in developing user segment equipment, either in navigation or telecommunications You are able to write clear, precise and concise documents in fluent English Note to RHEA a language certificate at C2 level is required for the position, should English not be the candidates mother tongue You have experience in supervising outsourced activities in an international environment The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience in defining technical requirements from potential users for future services within a regulated environment You have experience in developing GNSS receivers up to commercialisation You have experience leading a standardisation group of technical experts in an international forum You have experience in developing user segment equipment for transport safety maritime, road, rail or aviation You have indepth knowledge of either the maritime, road or rail communities, with an established network of technical contacts in the field How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
