Mission As a member of the Data Services team, the key person shall provide system architecture engineering support primarily for maintenance and evolution but also for routine operations. Description The activities performed by the keyperson will be an input for the overall System and ground segment VV activities. The keyperson will typically be involved in tasks related to test tools test data, with focus on tools data required for VV of instrument data processing chains. Regular review of System level documentation dealing with requirements, system concepts, architecture and design, technical analyses, to identify information of importance for test tools test data. In addition, and with the same aim, analysis of documents provided by other teams and by external partners. Support for the preparation of documentation for System level reviews, during the covered period the System Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review. Some activities will involve interactions with other teams, primarily in the LEO division, and also, as relevant for the work, with engineers at partner agencies. Profile The keyperson shall have the following experience and background University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent. At least 5 years of general experience with the development of onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation. At least 5 years of direct involvement in VV activities for instrument processing chains, including production of test tools and of test data. At least 5 years of experience with software specification, design and development and relevant standards. Very good skills in higher programming languages, such as Fortran, CC, Java. The keyperson shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. The official languages are English and French.
