In support of Phase CD Support the completion of the detailed design of the ground segment system, including analyses architectural tradeoffs, system technical budgets, risk analyses to ensure completeness and coherence of the design for all aspects related to system engineering Support the management of the requirements baseline, including for changes deviations and waivers and evaluation of impact on element baselines Support to GS element level activities, especially review of element level designs, ensuring coherency and consistency between the elements and the GS system level Support to finalisation and subsequent maintenance of the ground segment internal interfaces definition Support to studies internal or external and the evaluation of their results, and related engineering proposals for the ground segment detailed design Support to the performance of elements design for internally developed elements Support to preparation of the ground segment system and constituent parts assembly, integration and verification detailed planning. General Support to the preparation of, and participation in, phase reviews. Participation in reviews and meetings at system, ground segment system and element level. Support to the preparation and maintenance of schedule, resource allocations and work breakdown structures for the GS system engineering activities. PROFILE MANDATORY SKILLS The Consultant shall have a university degree or equivalent in the domain of engineering or science, together with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the following areas and disciplines Extensive experience in the specification, design including functional analysis an modelling, implementation, integration, and verification of large and complex Earth Observation ground segments Experience in the preparation of ground segment requirements and design documentation Experience in system engineering practices and processes, especially in the field of space systems engineering, including knowledge of ECSS standards and system life cycle processes Detailed knowledge of at least 2 of the following and a good overview of the others i Networking Communications, ii Ground Stations, iii Near RealTime Data Processing chains, iv Satellite and ground segment control systems Fluency in English is mandatory.
