CGI is looking for a number of Java developers to work primarily in their busy and interesting Space team based in Leatherhead. You will be developing software in a commercial environment, in applications for engineering or highassurance systems so previous experience in this area is essential. Your role will also involve Producing documentation associated with the development activities in line with European Space Agency ESA standards and procedures Reporting progress and issues to project management Possible occasional support on site in Europe Germany, Italy, NL may be required Producing documentation associated with the development activities in line with European Space Agency ESA standards and procedures The role will require UK Security Clearance to SC level so you must be willing and eligible to obtai n this level of clearance if you do not already do so. You should ideally hold a University degree in computer science, maths, physics or engineering or other numerate subject. You must have experience in at least one of the following areas high assurance or safetyrelated applications embedded systems realtime near realtime applications scientific or mathematical computing e.g. industrialisation of algorithms, mathematical modelling security related or cryptographic experience Experience of both OO and structured programming in Java, including at least one of the additional following languages C, C, C, Ada Understanding of the entire software design, development and deployment lifecycle Experience of both traditional waterfall and Agile methods Familiarity with RUP and in particular UML techniques Experience of operating under recognised industry standards with daydoday experience of source control using tools such as SVN, GIT, ClearCase etc code reviews coverage testing formal defect tracking using tools such as Bugzilla etc Highly Desirable skills Familiarity with the following standards or similar DO 178BC, DEF STAN 0056, DEF STAN 0055 Safety Critical language subsets e.g. SPARK Ada, Misra C Experience of developing applications on both UnixLinux and Windows operating systems Experience in any of the following Scripting e.g. Shell, Perl, Python etc Eclipse or other similar IDEs Build Processes e.g. Ant, Maven Static and dynamic code analysis e.g. Logiscope, Cantata, Sonar MODAF and Artisan Studio Desirable skills Experience of any of the following RTOS e.g. LynxOS or VxWorks Spring, ICEfaces HP Quality Centre, MatLab Salary 25000 45000 per annum benefits CGI is a leading business and technology services company with 69,000 professionals across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
