Key Tasks and Responsibilities To support our customer in Germany The Contractor is required to provide consultancy for Firewall Management and Orchestration with the following responsibilities Management of security related equipment and links during operations and maintenance activities Provide service related to Network, Security and Compliance Adherence to the Anomaly Resolution and change management processes and implementation of the tasksactions assigned Review the customer firewall logs and rules to eliminate unnecessary firewall regulations Perform Onsite Virtual Workshop to derive requirements, and agree selection criteria Perform a market survey to identify which products would be the best viable options Perform a proscons tradestudy and present the results to the customer Support the implementation of the agreed firewall solutions in the customers facility Automate and orchestrate the security policies across firewalls Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters degree in Software Engineering, IT or equivalent from an accredited university Experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of network and security systems Experience in complex systems requiring a high availability and high security needs in a 247 operating environment, preferably with large, distributed, heterogeneous IT environments Experience in obsolescence and compliance reengineering of legacy network systems with respect to security aspects Experience in market surveys and implementation of firewall orchestration management software, firewall rule audit and corrective actions Design and implementation of Network security anomaly detection Identification and implementation of DNS log management and analysis Experience using network analysis and management tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark Experience in using network diagram software such as Visio Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The GSMC Operator will have the following main tasks and responsibilities Supervising the security and system status of the Galileo system, handling Incidents and security alerts raised by the GSMC security tools, operating the GSMC Ticketing System to log and trace the full incident handling process, in line with the operational procedures Ensuring the timely execution of PRS procedures distribution, requests and orders, supervising the Galileo system PRS Signal in Space health status and ensuring duly authorised access, providing advice to Member States on the operation of the PRS, including providing advice on how to achieve their goals When needed, contributing to provision of advice on the continuity of services, including on actions required to maintain the service, to the EU decisionmaking bodies, supporting Galileo Crisis Management and implementing the instructions issued by the relevant authorities Investigating any degradation of the PRS and SECMON service and processing Galileo system anomalies Ensuring that the GSMC Service Desk functions are delivered Supporting at basic level the Galileo Security Facility GSF system Supporting the improvement of the Security Monitoring, PRS access and Council Decision 496 operational procedures development Supporting the validation of the new releases of operational equipment Participating and contributing to the review and update of the incident handling process, the lessons learnt process, and the GSMC risk and vulnerability management. The jobholder will be required to work as part of a 247 shift working and oncall duty roster in line with the EUSPAs applicable rules. Heshe will be required to be trained and certified in hisher operational role and will be required to maintain hisher certification as part of the ongoing duties. Prior to certification and shift operations, the role will be primarily a normal daytime job contributing to the development of GSMC operations. Besides the formal internal certification training, the job holder will participate to industry recognised external training in order to acquire or maintain the technical competencies required for this position. Frequent missions and possible detachment to GSMC Backup site Madrid, Spain, and occasional travel to Brussels Belgium and Prague Czech Republic are foreseen for this post.
