A vacancy for a GNSS System Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Taufkirchen. The successful applicant will join TSEIG4 Navigation Products. The GNSS System Engineer will work in the GNSS Evolution team thereby providing technical assistance to ESA and GSA. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Contributing to the ongoing exploitation phase of Galileo and to Galileo evolutions Contributing to definition and design of physical and logical architecture Supporting the definition of system functionalities Supporting the system engineering process implementation by requirement derivation, flow down, justification and verification Supporting the maintenance of System Engineering baseline and follow up of requirements changes Supporting the developing system engineering models and tools in support to the design process Supporting the consolidation of a concept of operation Contributing to the architectural roadmaps Supporting the improvement of time to market for GNSS services Consolidating the system requirements, based also on segment and technological predevelopment inputs Supporting compliance derivation to mission requirements Presentation of results in front of the customer and conferences We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a degree level in electrical engineering, telecommunications, physics, geodesy or similar Experience in satellite system and segment engineering and in integration and verification and operation of large ground systems Detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of the satellitebased Navigation Systems Galileo, GPS, EGNOS, GLONASS Deep understanding of data dissemination flow, navigation message generation and processing Deep understanding of GNSS end user constraints and GNSS applications. Experience in standard engineering software e.g. Doors, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect and XSDXML, Modaf, Matlab, basic knowledge in C and C Ability to analyze complex technical problems. What can you expect? You will contribute to the ongoing deployment and exploitation phase of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, as well as the definition of the future second generation of Galileo by contributing on system performance and integrity aspects.You will join the Airbus Navigation Department. With more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Support receiver data processing for ground segment algorithms Analyses of several PVT techniques e.g. RTK, PPP, differential GPS, etc. in different environments maritime, urban, rural, aeronautical, etc. Analyses of multipath in different environments using measured real life data from measurement campaigns andor monitor stations Assessment of signal distortions impact on user dependent receiver performance Assessment of navigation system error and error budgeting with regard to signal performance Analyses of GNSS navigation messages Define, plan, conduct and evaluate laboratory experiments to support tradeoffanalysis as needed Operation of tools and supporting the definition and upgrade of tools for performance analysis Combine simulated GNSS data with real measurements to generate modified measurement data sets Support system engineering activities related to SIS engineering, for instance maintenance of SISICD requirements in DOORS maintenance of verification control documentation Presentation of the achieved results in front of national and international customers, industrial partners, technical meetings, symposia and conferences.
