For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a RF Payloads Plus Microwave Mmwaves Technology Equipment Engineer. Tasks and Responsibilities The Key Person duties will be assigned to the Payload Engineering Section TECETP in the RF Systems, Payload and Technology Division at ESTEC Participating in internal RD activities and support to projects in the domain of navigation payloads Galileo, EGNOS, GNSS evolutions andor Earth Observation instruments. Being involved with internal research work on advanced payload and instruments concepts and on computer simulation at system and subsystem level of the related performance. For navigation payloads of particular relevance will be the assessment of the impacts of payload distortions in the quality of the Signal In Space. Participation to Definition, simulation, specification and development of telecom, navigation and RF Remote Sensing Instruments and payloads. Preparation of payload instrument concepts for future satellite missions and the technical support to ESA projects on the areas of telecom and navigation payloads and RF Remote Sensing instruments i.e. Radar, SAR, altimeters, radiometers, scatterometers. Requirements The Key Persons shall have the following qualifications A university Masters degree on telecommicrowaveRFElectromagnetics related studies and a good knowledge of software tools Matlab, Simulink, ADS, C, C At least 4 years of experience in the domain of navigation payload andor remote sensing instruments including architecture tradeoffs Knowledge of stateoftheart RF analogue and highspeed digital processing techniques and technologies, computer simulation techniques and on board equipment definition and specification will be an asset Extensive and proven experience in the domain of telecom , navigation or RF Remote Sensing satellite payload and instruments, covering both RD and flight hardware procurement activities. Knowledge is required on the fields of modern computer systems, programming languages, computer simulation tools and signal processing. Please note that this is a fixed term contract, with a start date of 09112015 and an end by end of December 2016.
