Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 100 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed The candidate will be assigned to the Payload Engineering Section TECETP in the RF Systems, Payload and Technology Division at ESTEC. Heshe will be participating in internal RD activities and support to projects in the domain of navigation payloads Galileo, EGNOS, GNSS evolutions andor Earth Observation instruments. Heshe will also be involved with internal research work on advanced payload and instruments concepts and on computer simulation at system andsubsystem level of the related performance. For navigation payloads of particular relevance will be the assessment of the impacts of payload distortions in the quality of the Signal In Space. Specific tasks to be performed Heshe should have experience in the domain of navigation payload andor remote sensing instruments including architecture tradeoffs. The knowledge of stateoftheart RF analogue and highspeeddigital processing techniques and technologies, computer simulation techniques and on board equipment definition and specification will be an asset. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of pacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL. BT to test new SOLSUN smart city network technology

(Telecompaper) BT will trial new technology that uses connected city street lights to create powerful communications networks. It has partnered with Norwich-based lighting and communications specialist Enlight to examine how street lighting control systems can provide connectivity for emerging 'smart city' applications such as smart parking and smart environmental services. The Sustainable Outdoor Lighting and Sensory Urban Network (SOLSUN) has already attracted interest from Europe, with the City of Budapest government and Budapest University both working closely with the two UK partners. The SOLSUN trial is scheduled to take place in Milton Keynes in January 2016 before a full commercial deployment in Budapest in summer 2016.
